Who in Season 14, Episode 13 has Good Intentions? It certainly isn't Zachariah or Michael, but maybe the writers who kept us upbeat even as the episode did some dark things. We also ponder what exactly the angel bombs are, why Donatello doesn't use a dipping sauce, and will the real Gog and Magog will please stand up.

On this week's episode of Double Strap podcast, The pretty boys versus Goth and.
Speaker B:McGaughey and Donatello needs a soul and condiments.
Speaker B:Let's do this.
Speaker B:Welcome to this week's episode of Devil's Trap podcast.
Speaker B:I'm Diana.
Speaker A:I'm Liz.
Speaker B:And we're going to talk about season 13, episode 14, good intentions, which the.
Speaker A:Road to hell is paved with.
Speaker A:But they're not going to hell.
Speaker A:So I don't know if I quite agree with the name of this.
Speaker A:Like, hell's not even really included in here, so I don't know.
Speaker A:Meh.
Speaker A:On the title.
Speaker B:Fair.
Speaker B:I agree.
Speaker A:What have you been up to?
Speaker B:What have I been up to?
Speaker B:Oh, not too much.
Speaker B:We.
Speaker B:I've been taking it easy a little bit because I've got a little bit of a cold and have too much going on to be sick.
Speaker B:So I'm trying to get better.
Speaker B:I did watch Masters of the Universe, and it was fun, but that's all I got to say about it.
Speaker A:Cool.
Speaker A:This has been Diana's opinion on Masters of the Universe.
Speaker B:I mean, I don't review.
Speaker B:I didn't know.
Speaker B:Three letters.
Speaker B:Look, I was a He man fan.
Speaker B:I enjoyed it well enough.
Speaker B:I was a little disappointed.
Speaker B:I appreciated the campy moments.
Speaker B:I feel like they should have leaned into the camp or leaned completely away from the camp.
Speaker B:I think they didn't succeed in meshing that with the intention of the film.
Speaker B:Okay, that's my hot take.
Speaker B:But Veronica Lodge looked good in it, the actress that played.
Speaker B:There you go.
Speaker B:There we go.
Speaker B:That's my.
Speaker B:That's my hot take.
Speaker B:What about you?
Speaker A:Oh, just crafting and the normal things.
Speaker A:And I was.
Speaker A:I'm almost done with this weird, like, 3D house that's made out of diamond dots.
Speaker A:And I was watching Criminal Minds, and the actor who plays Donatello in this episode was in an episode of Criminal Minds.
Speaker A:So then it was just completely like.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:It was a bit of a mind because he didn't have a beard and he was completely different character to, like, why is Donatello in this?
Speaker A:But it's like, it's not Donatello.
Speaker A:It just.
Speaker A:It was just very strange.
Speaker A:He was playing a detective, but not.
Speaker A:He wasn't a psycho or anything.
Speaker A:And then also, I've been.
Speaker A:I.
Speaker A:That's been my background TV show.
Speaker A:You know, just calm serial killer show in the background, like you do.
Speaker A:And Michelle Trachtenberg was on an episode, like, and Nicholas Brennan is in it, too.
Speaker A:So, like, it's just like, why are all my dead Buffy People in this.
Speaker B:This is really sad.
Speaker B:That is.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:But that's.
Speaker A:That's what I've been up to and dealing with, you know, life.
Speaker B:It just.
Speaker A:It's been one of those weeks where life is just like kicking me in the shins.
Speaker A:It's not.
Speaker A:You know, it's nothing bad.
Speaker A:Everything is manageable and fixable, but it's just like.
Speaker A:It's just like your socks are wet, you know.
Speaker B:Annoying.
Speaker B:Yeah, just annoying.
Speaker A:Annoying.
Speaker A:There's, like, what.
Speaker A:Why you were not on my.
Speaker A:You can't.
Speaker A:You can't plan for the annoying.
Speaker C:So.
Speaker A:No.
Speaker A:Anyway, so that's.
Speaker A:That's.
Speaker A:That's life.
Speaker A:If you guys didn't know, that is.
Speaker A:That is how life works.
Speaker B:Wet socks.
Speaker A:Wet socks.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And in.
Speaker A:In the land of supernatural family, not.
Speaker A:Still not a ton is going on.
Speaker A:Everyone.
Speaker A:They've been doing a lot of cons.
Speaker A:Pati is doing some things with Stan, so there's a couple of things on there that have been coming up.
Speaker A:He's doing one that, like, they're gonna do sketching together.
Speaker A:Like, you can go.
Speaker A:So you can go draw with Jared Padalecki, which could be fun.
Speaker A:I have to look at the whole thing, but I feel like that's it.
Speaker A:And then he also.
Speaker A:They gave a release date for his movie, which is going to be called.
Speaker A:I. I can't remember what it's.
Speaker A:I'm just now guarding.
Speaker B:Guarding stars.
Speaker A:Guarding stars instead of the Bodyguard because nobody realized until now that there was another movie with the name Bodyguard that was kind of popular.
Speaker A:Yeah, I also think there was a second movie.
Speaker A:Wasn't there a second Bodyguard already?
Speaker A:I feel like there was a less like.
Speaker B:A less like, popular one.
Speaker A:Obviously I'm talking about Whitney Houston, Kevin Costner, but I feel like there was a second one, too that was like, slightly like, not as famous, but still.
Speaker A:You can't.
Speaker A:You can't name a movie.
Speaker B:Yeah, it just seems like.
Speaker B:Doesn't do anybody any favors to do that either.
Speaker B:But yeah.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:I think the only thing I saw it was Jensen was teasing that he's getting back to, like, studio.
Speaker A:He's on set for the Tracker.
Speaker A:So he posted.
Speaker A:He did post a picture of himself on set with his, like, kind of scruffy beard going on.
Speaker A:And he looks really cute.
Speaker A:Man.
Speaker A:I'm gonna say it's such a damn.
Speaker A:No man should be that attractive, but he just is.
Speaker A:Oh, and the other.
Speaker A:They released Walker, Texas Ranger on HBO Max, and it's in the top 10.
Speaker A:Nice.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So that.
Speaker A:I think that's going to get A little popularity run right now, Mr. Mr. Padalecki.
Speaker A:So that'll be good for him.
Speaker B:Definitely.
Speaker A:All right, so let's talk about good intentions.
Speaker A:Sometimes I have them.
Speaker A: ,: Speaker A:And it was directed by PJ Pesci, who this last season did Family Feud and There's Something About Mary and was written by Meredith Glenn, who this season did the Big Empty, which was episode four, and the Scorpion and the Frog, which.
Speaker A:Which is episode eight.
Speaker A:And for our recap, Jack and Mary are in Apocalypse World, and the plan is to use Lucifer's grace to open the rift, but they need the Demon Tablet and Donatello, who was reporting to Asmodeus and has no soul.
Speaker A:That was basically the recap.
Speaker A:It wasn't a ton.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And we open to Jack's asleep in his bed at the bunker, which is crazy.
Speaker B:And he's hearing voices, talking about him being home.
Speaker B:And it's Sam.
Speaker B:He can hear Sam and Dean and outside of his room talking about him being home.
Speaker B:But then the alarm goes off and there's red lights flashing, and Jack's trying to get to Sam and Dean behind a door, but he can't.
Speaker B:There's fire.
Speaker B:And Sam and Dean are yelling for help, and Jack can't open it.
Speaker B:Oh, my gosh.
Speaker B:But really, this was a vision inside Jack's head because Michael is making Zachariah with Jack's mind.
Speaker A:He is.
Speaker A:And after this point, I just started calling him Zach because I was tired of writing the name Zachariah.
Speaker B:It is.
Speaker A:It's just a long name to type.
Speaker A:So Zach says that Jack has enough juice to open a bit.
Speaker A:A rift big enough to march an army through, and they just have to make him use it.
Speaker A:And he fear won't break him.
Speaker A:He has something that will.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then we go down to the bunker where Donatello was working in a slew of wing carcasses.
Speaker A:And I did order.
Speaker A:I had to order chicken wings because of this.
Speaker A:And then I got mad because they didn't bring my ranch dressing.
Speaker A:So I was like, what?
Speaker A:Like, how am I supposed to eat?
Speaker A:Like, I can't eat these without dressing.
Speaker B:Does he have any sauces?
Speaker B:I. I think he's going sauce.
Speaker A:He's.
Speaker A:He is not dipping.
Speaker A:He is not a dip man.
Speaker A:So he is just full on this, like, straight up.
Speaker B:I mean, I'm a blue cheese girl, but damn.
Speaker B:I like a classic.
Speaker B:I like a classic buffalo classic or hot buffalo and blue cheese.
Speaker B:That's the thing for me.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:But I also.
Speaker A:I like varieties of chicken wings.
Speaker A:I will take a lemon.
Speaker A:I will take a lemon pepper.
Speaker A:I like a garlic parm.
Speaker A:You know, like, they're all different flavors.
Speaker A:And I will go with.
Speaker A:But I get really annoyed if I have a classic buffalo, which I had, and nothing could go dip it in,.
Speaker B:Because that's just rude.
Speaker A:It's the main.
Speaker A:It's the main merging.
Speaker A:Merging of the flavors that.
Speaker A:That makes it so.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:So Donatello is there amongst his wings with no dip and the demon tablet.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And he's getting, like, these crazy, like, flashes in his head of whatever.
Speaker B:It's a very, like, frantic kind of moment.
Speaker B:And then he's interrupted by a knock on the door, and it's Castiel bringing him breakfast.
Speaker B:That's nice.
Speaker B:Nice of Cass.
Speaker B:But he's also a little worried.
Speaker B:Like, he's given Donatello some side eye.
Speaker B:He's kind of concerned.
Speaker B:And Donatello is frazzled, but says he's making progress.
Speaker B:So Cass is gonna go report that and goes back to the kitchen where Dean has a pile of bacon.
Speaker A:A big pile on pile of bacon.
Speaker A:And Sam tells him that he should be taking it easy on the night trades.
Speaker A:And Dean is just like, man, if bacon kills me, I win.
Speaker A:Which is true.
Speaker B:And so Cassiel's like, apparently, Donatello is making progress, but also, I think we need to revisit looking for Lucifer.
Speaker B:And I am really worried about this Michael situation.
Speaker B:And they're like, Sam, Dean are like, no, no, don't worry.
Speaker B:We have a plan.
Speaker B:We're going to follow the damn plan.
Speaker B:Cass.
Speaker B:He's not reassured.
Speaker A:And they still think Dean thinks that Donatello is their best bet for this.
Speaker A:So we go to kind of like Lakeside and where Jack is being shown nature by Castiel.
Speaker A:And Cassiel tells them that humans will destroy everything.
Speaker A:And then he gives Jack a montage of human horrors.
Speaker A:And it's just like, all the worst things that people have done.
Speaker A:And it's such a great reminder of humanity.
Speaker A:I love it.
Speaker A:And then Cass tells him that he has the power to save them all, and he can guide him.
Speaker A:And too bad that Sam and Dean didn't accept you and they taught you to fear your powers.
Speaker A:But this starts to with Jack's head.
Speaker A:And he remembers being.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker B:Because he's like, wait a minute.
Speaker A:This isn't right.
Speaker A:And he remembers being Otherworld, and he figures out that Cassio isn't real and this is not real.
Speaker A:And so he's going to come to an apocalypse world, and Michael is going to start to get really violent because it's a time for his way down.
Speaker B:Yeah, I don't like Michael's mean.
Speaker A:Michael is a dick.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So back at the bunker, Donatello is frantically translating, and then he runs down the hall and he does a little.
Speaker B:Little heel.
Speaker B:A heel kick bell.
Speaker B:Little heel kick.
Speaker B:And yells eureka.
Speaker B:Because apparently he now has the ingredient list.
Speaker A:And there isn't any archangel Grace on it at all.
Speaker A:It's just got the hearts of Gog and Magog book.
Speaker A:And according to the tablet, they were ancient warriors who enslaved half the Fertile Crescent until some priest cast them away into a place without place at a time without time.
Speaker B:Yeah, that sounds complicated.
Speaker A:It does sound complicated.
Speaker A:But Cass, of course, volunteers, and Dean says he will go too.
Speaker A:And Donatello thinks this is excellent.
Speaker A:And he and Sam can assemble the other ingredients.
Speaker A:Now, where do you keep your virgin lamb's blood?
Speaker B:That also, I have a question.
Speaker B:Virgin lamb?
Speaker A:The lamb is virgin.
Speaker A:Is there a hymen test for virgin for lambs?
Speaker B:Well, it's a lamb.
Speaker A:It's a baby.
Speaker B:Isn't a lamb a baby anyways?
Speaker B:Like, a lamb?
Speaker A:Hopefully, you know, like, not a slutty full grown.
Speaker B:Oh, my gosh.
Speaker B:Yeah, I know exactly.
Speaker B:It's not a slutty full grown sheep.
Speaker B:It's a baby.
Speaker A:So it's just the name.
Speaker A:The virgin lamb's blood is redundant.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:That's my stance.
Speaker B:That's my stance.
Speaker A:Hopefully nothing has happened to this poor lamb.
Speaker A:All right, we're gonna go to.
Speaker A:I can also, like, I just.
Speaker A:You tell how tired I was because now, like, Apocalypse World is being like.
Speaker A:Like I've now shortened it to Apoc World by the end of this episode.
Speaker A:It's just.
Speaker A:Aw.
Speaker A:But so right now, though, we go to a park world where Michael is dragging a passed out Jack into a cell.
Speaker B:Mm.
Speaker B:And he throws them in.
Speaker B:And guess who else is in there?
Speaker B:Mary.
Speaker B:And he explains that Sam and Dean sent him, but they couldn't get there.
Speaker B:And she's like, I knew your mom.
Speaker B:You should be six months old.
Speaker B:What the fuck?
Speaker B:And he's like, well, I am kind of, but basically big giant man baby.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:But she wants to know how he even got there.
Speaker B:And he explains how they open the door and we're going to save her, but it went wrong.
Speaker B:And apparently Michael is in both of their heads.
Speaker B:But she's like, also, now that you know.
Speaker B:Now that Michael knows that Jack can open the door and wants Jack to open the door, he says, no matter what, how much they hurt me, I won't do it.
Speaker B:And she's like, yeah, but that's not.
Speaker B:But they're not going to hurt you.
Speaker B:That's why you're in the cell with me now.
Speaker B:They're going to use me.
Speaker B:They're going to hurt me to get.
Speaker A:You to do it.
Speaker B:Because Mary's pretty smart on things like this.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker B:So not.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:Which.
Speaker A:And we all agree that sounds like what Michael would do.
Speaker B:Correct.
Speaker A:And we're gonna cut from there back to the bunker.
Speaker A:Dean, ask Cass if he's ready and if he's holding up.
Speaker A:Cat says he's just fine, but, you know, he was dead and he hasn't been brought back for a reason.
Speaker A:And Dean says that, you know what?
Speaker A:It was Jack who brought him back.
Speaker A:And then Caster starts with the self flagellation again.
Speaker A:And like, well, how paid Jack for that?
Speaker A:And then Cass is just like, you know, maybe it's time that we.
Speaker A:You know, I was brought back to be prepared for war, because that is what Michael does.
Speaker A:So he's very much on this.
Speaker A:Michael is going to bring us a war kick.
Speaker A:And that is all Cass is focused on.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker A:Dean says just.
Speaker A:But we're gonna do what we have to do.
Speaker A:And we're.
Speaker A:Which is whatever we take.
Speaker A:Whatever it takes.
Speaker A:It's what we do.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So Sam.
Speaker B:We see Sam and Donatello gathering ingredients, including as it.
Speaker B:Dead sea brine and wolfsb.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:Which seems pretty.
Speaker A:Not, you know, not crazy ingredients.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:I mean, for.
Speaker B:Given the setting, pretty mundane for them.
Speaker A:All Right.
Speaker A:And then we cut to the woods, and they are in the field of the middle of nowhere.
Speaker A:Donatello said that Gog and Magog can only be killed by weapons touched by God.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:So Cass brings out angel blades.
Speaker A:Because, of course, everyone gets an angel.
Speaker B:Never ending angel.
Speaker A:Never ending angel blades.
Speaker A:This is.
Speaker A:This is the season of the angel blades.
Speaker A:And we're gonna do a little bit of lore here, and we're going to talk about Gog.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:There are many iterations of Gog and Magog.
Speaker A:So many, in fact, that I'm still kind of confused about who the hell Gog and Magog were.
Speaker A:Also, this is mainly coming from Wikipedia and Britannica because I did not want to sift through all the many biblical prophecy pages to find any historical analysis, because you'll hear.
Speaker A:You'll find out why.
Speaker A:So, biblically speaking, in the Old Testament book Ezekiel 38, GOG is at first a person who is prophesied to invade Israel.
Speaker A:And Magog is where he is from.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:So he's Gog from Magog, Not Gog Magog, and God is going to send natural disasters to destroy Gog, and that is going to restore the bond between God and humanity.
Speaker A:So this is something that is going to happen in the future.
Speaker A:Then again, he comes up again in the book of Revelation, but this time there are two separate things.
Speaker A:There is Gog and Magog, and they are allies of Satan and they attack the saints and Jerusalem, but God's going to send fire to destroy them, and then last judgment will come.
Speaker A:So they are a sign of the apocalypse.
Speaker A:And the Alexander romances.
Speaker A:Gog and Magog, or I kind of really like how they are referred this way.
Speaker A:Goth and McGaughey.
Speaker B:That does sound up your alley.
Speaker A:I do like McGauthie.
Speaker A:All right, so they are the kings of the unclean nations.
Speaker A:Unclean whom Alexander drove through a mountain pass and prevented crossing his new fancy wall, which was built to propel them.
Speaker A:That's also.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And so the historian Josephus, which, you know, Josephus, just sounds like somebody from Arkansas.
Speaker A:No offense to the Arkansas people, but it just sounds like a hillbilly.
Speaker A:But the historian Josephus said in the first century A.D. that the people whom the Greeks call Scythians were known among the Jewish people as Magog guides.
Speaker A:And they were descendants of the group Magog in the Hebrew Bible.
Speaker A:This idea was disseminated through the near east in the early centuries of the Christian and Islamic eras.
Speaker A:They also appear in the Quran as Yajuj and Majuj, as primitive and immoral tribes who had to be separated and barriered off.
Speaker A:So there's always kind of like that in.
Speaker A:At least especially in the Bible and Quran stuff, the idea of unclean people who had to be barriered away had to be kept away from.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:The name has also kind of represent a legendary British giant, Gog Magog, that's one word.
Speaker A:Who inhabited the island of Albion.
Speaker A:Gog Magog was the last of the giants and was wrestled by the Trojan Corinius when they were invaded.
Speaker A:And this is my favorite version of the story.
Speaker A:All right.
Speaker A:The Roman emperor Diocletian had 33 wicked daughters.
Speaker A:He found 33 husbands for them to curb their wicked ways.
Speaker A:And they chafed at this.
Speaker A:And under the leadership of their eldest sister, Alba, they murdered their husbands.
Speaker A:And then for this crime, they were set adrift at sea.
Speaker A:They watched ashore on a windswept island, which they named Albion after Alba.
Speaker A:Here they coupled with demons and they gave birth to a race of giants who descendants included Gog and Magog.
Speaker A:Oh, I like that story.
Speaker A:It's.
Speaker A:It's heartwarming.
Speaker A:There's a family.
Speaker A:Family in it, you know, some women power in there, you know, So I. I go with that one.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker C:Okay.
Speaker A: ,: Speaker A:These or similar figures made of wicker work and pasteboard made regular appearance in the Lord Mayor show thereafter, and they became known as Gog and Magog over the years.
Speaker A: ures were carved from Pine in: Speaker A:They were destroyed in air raid.
Speaker A: by a man named David Evans in: Speaker A:So you can go see Gog and Magog, which are supposed to be giants in England.
Speaker B:Interesting.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's about as interesting as Gog.
Speaker B:They were big.
Speaker A:They were big.
Speaker A:They were big in this.
Speaker B:And I.
Speaker A:We'll get.
Speaker A:We'll.
Speaker A:Now we'll.
Speaker A:We'll jump into.
Speaker A:Into this back.
Speaker A:And I said Laura Short tonight.
Speaker A:There's not a.
Speaker A:Like, the reason that there's so much biblical prophecy is because they're in Revelation.
Speaker A:So anything that's in Revelation, like, there's just, like, the Internet's just gonna be like, end times, apocalypse.
Speaker A:I don't.
Speaker B:All the things.
Speaker A:Yeah, all the things.
Speaker A:So, yeah, back in supernatural land, Cass starts reading out my passwords and nothing happens.
Speaker A:But then behind them comes two warriors in loincloths that look like diapers.
Speaker A:And Dean just starts laughing.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:He is a giggle box about this.
Speaker B:He is just chuckling away at them.
Speaker B:And Cass is like, dude, this is serious.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Dean is not feeling serious about this.
Speaker B:And Gog and Magog are talking to each other in.
Speaker B:Was it ancient Canaanite?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And they kind of, like, brag about themselves.
Speaker B:They want to know where Castiel and Dean's armies are to take them on.
Speaker B:But then they bicker with each other, and then they catch Dean laughing.
Speaker B:And now they want to fight.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And the Uranus, they're arguing about who, which one they're gonna kill first.
Speaker A:And there's like, well, I'll kill the pretty one.
Speaker A:And the other one's like, but they.
Speaker B:Are equally pretty, which is funny.
Speaker A:It was hilarious.
Speaker A:And so they charge, and the sword breaks the angel blade.
Speaker B:Oops.
Speaker B:I don't think I expected that.
Speaker B:We haven't seen that.
Speaker B:We've seen a melt.
Speaker A:I don't think we've seen a belt.
Speaker A:But yeah, so this.
Speaker A:That's not great.
Speaker A:And then Dean Starts kicking a little butt and.
Speaker A:But then he gets tossed and he grabs the sword of.
Speaker A:Of either Gog or Magog.
Speaker A:We never learned which one is who.
Speaker A:And he decapitates one.
Speaker A:And just as the other one is about to stab, stab Cass.
Speaker A:And as he's saying it, he says, I hate doing this.
Speaker A:You are very beautiful.
Speaker A:Dean stabs him.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So now they need to get their hearts.
Speaker B:Except problem.
Speaker B:Problem.
Speaker B:There is sand coming out of the.
Speaker B:The dead gogs body instead of blood.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:It's just this weird like gravel mixture of.
Speaker A:It's just pouring out of them.
Speaker A:So they're not human and they don't have any hearts.
Speaker A:So what does that mean?
Speaker A:Oh, my goodness.
Speaker A:Oh.
Speaker A:So we're not gonna find out yet because we have to go back to Apocalypse World where Mary, it tells Jack to let Michael kill her because she's a Winchester and she loves to self sacrifice.
Speaker B:And Jack's like, no, I need to be able to save us both.
Speaker B:But my power is not working right here.
Speaker B:And I have this horrible headache.
Speaker B:And she's like, dude, I have a migraine here too, but if I stand by this window, it's a little better.
Speaker A:So why did this one specific spot in front of this window.
Speaker A:It's one little hole.
Speaker A:I don't have a headache.
Speaker B:So come stand.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker A:And try it.
Speaker A:There.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:It's apparently.
Speaker B:Basically, there's not warding by the window, but it was just.
Speaker B:It's kind of hilarious.
Speaker A:It's just.
Speaker B:It.
Speaker A:It's just so.
Speaker B:It's.
Speaker A:It's stupid.
Speaker A:It's.
Speaker A:I'm sorry.
Speaker A:It's stupid.
Speaker A:So he goes to the one specific spot and he is able to use his powers there.
Speaker A:He's able to heat up the metals.
Speaker A:The metal of the window guard, I guess.
Speaker A:And that's.
Speaker A:They're gonna get out that way.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:And so we go back to the bunker where shit is about going crazy.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Because Donatello is walking up on Sam, sees Sam's phone ringing on the table with a call from Dean, declines it and bonk Sam on the head with a bottle.
Speaker A:Tbi.
Speaker A:Tbi.
Speaker B:That.
Speaker B:Man, these men cannot have more freaking head injuries.
Speaker B:They can't.
Speaker A:They just stop hurting.
Speaker B:Concussion protocols, little brains.
Speaker B:God.
Speaker A:And then like, that's not bad enough.
Speaker A:He's gonna smash him in his pretty face again.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:He gets two hits to the head.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:So back in Apocalypse World now, Michael is investigating the window that Mary and Jack have escaped through.
Speaker B:And his orders are to get Jack back and kill Mary.
Speaker B:But make sure you kill Mary in front Of Jack.
Speaker B:Because he's a dick.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker A:And so Jack and Mary are fleeing on foot, and they see people and hide.
Speaker A:But they don't hide well.
Speaker B:No.
Speaker B:Terrible.
Speaker A:They are terrible at hiding.
Speaker A:And so the soldier comes up, like, so are you angel, you demon?
Speaker A:Are you human?
Speaker A:And Mary just kind of lies and says that they are human.
Speaker A:And one of them is Bobby.
Speaker B:Yeah, we've got our alternate Bobby, Apocalypse World Bobby back.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:And dude, who says nothing.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:He's just there.
Speaker B:And he recognizes Mary Campbell because remember when we met him before, he talked about how he knew Mary Campbell, but she didn't have any kids.
Speaker B:And anyways, so she's like, oh, my gosh, my boys told me about you.
Speaker B:And he's like, oh, yeah.
Speaker B:I remember meeting those guys.
Speaker B:That was weird.
Speaker B:And I knew.
Speaker B:I knew a Mary Campbell, but I, you know, thought you were a ghost.
Speaker B:You're just from a whole nother world, which is even weirder, which is really funny.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Bobby's so good.
Speaker A:And so they.
Speaker A:Then they take them somewhere.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:They're gonna go together.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And we go to the bunker where Dean and Cass have come in and find Sam hurting after the Muppet professor attack him.
Speaker B:And it's a mess.
Speaker B:He, like, made a mess of everything.
Speaker B:It's very disappointing.
Speaker B:I don't like it.
Speaker A:Well, I guess I'm assuming they had to have a fight afterwards is like, probably what they knocked on here.
Speaker A:Because Donatello is now.
Speaker A:Because Donatello is now tied up in the.
Speaker A:In the file room dungeon.
Speaker B:That's true.
Speaker A:So he's in there, and apparently he was.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Because he said he kept attacking and biting.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Don't tell a cut out bitey.
Speaker A:So they figure out that Donatello wanted Gog and Magog to kill them because he wants them dead.
Speaker B:Oh, yeah.
Speaker B:Not good.
Speaker B:So we are now in the Apocalypse World Human colony camp.
Speaker B:I don't.
Speaker B:I don't know what else.
Speaker B:And with Bobby and Mary and Jack, and it is a very sad place.
Speaker B:It looks like a.
Speaker B:A war camp or colony.
Speaker B:And they're like, what happened?
Speaker B:And he's like, angels happen.
Speaker A:And they just dive bomb San Antonio.
Speaker B:And they killed.
Speaker A:I was like, oh, no, not San Antonio.
Speaker A:They killed 400 people.
Speaker B:Remember the Alamo, Damn it.
Speaker A:Remember the Alamo As I duck for cover.
Speaker A:And so Mary tells Bobby that Michael will be looking for them.
Speaker A:And he says they have warding and other things.
Speaker A:And Mary Campbell saved his ass more than a few times.
Speaker A:Vibe.
Speaker A:So Bobby's cool with them being there for now.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So back in the bunker.
Speaker B:We go see Donatello tied to a chair, laughing maniacally.
Speaker B:Because he.
Speaker B:He believes now that Dean covets his power and his connection to God.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And so he.
Speaker A:Don Tello is high on this God tablet power.
Speaker B:He was just used.
Speaker A:Just high on his power.
Speaker A:And he starts to say a spell, and Dean stops breathing.
Speaker A:And we're like, what the hell?
Speaker A:What did you do?
Speaker B:And how does he have this power now?
Speaker A:I think he's learned it from the demon tablet because there's stuff in there.
Speaker A:But.
Speaker A:So Sam takes him out of the room.
Speaker A:And Dean's okay when he gets him out of.
Speaker A:Out of the room, away from him.
Speaker A:So we don't.
Speaker A:We still don't know what that spell was.
Speaker A:I should look that up.
Speaker A:But anyway, so we go from there to Apocalypse World, where Jack is making shadows.
Speaker A:No, puppets.
Speaker B:He's really good at it.
Speaker A:He is really good.
Speaker A:And, well, then he starts cheating.
Speaker B:He does start cheating.
Speaker B:And Bobby brings Mary a hot beverage with whiskey in it and is just staring at her.
Speaker B:And so she wants to know what Mary Campbell was like that he knew.
Speaker B:And he's like, oh, complicated and full of regret.
Speaker B:I'm like, oh, so, like all the Winchesters.
Speaker B:But anyway, so he.
Speaker B:They.
Speaker B:They're talking about.
Speaker B:But basically, the.
Speaker B:She asks if she made a bad demon deal.
Speaker B:And Bobby's like, no, she didn't make one.
Speaker B:And she lost the love of her life, and she never moved on.
Speaker B:And so Mary's like, oh, that's weird, because I did make the deal, and it brought my boys a lot of pain.
Speaker B:But what happened in your world?
Speaker B:My boys stopped happening in our world.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:So this is what happens when Sam and Dean were never born.
Speaker B:Crazy.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And Bobby says he didn't go with the boys when they asked him because he's all the world this world has.
Speaker A:So he's, like, staying there to protect Bobby's people.
Speaker A:Then the shadow puppets start to get a little more elaborate.
Speaker A:And Bobby is like, is he a witch or is he a psychic?
Speaker A:And then Mary feels that she needs to tell him the truth for some reason and tells him that Jack is enough one.
Speaker A:And Bobby gets real pissed.
Speaker B:Big mad.
Speaker B:Big mad.
Speaker B:Because they don't.
Speaker B:He doesn't trust them.
Speaker B:He gave her.
Speaker B:He wants him gone by morning.
Speaker B:And Mary's like, I gotta go with him.
Speaker B:Then he's like, that's fine.
Speaker B:We thought angels were on our side when Lucifer and his demon army rose.
Speaker B:But one by one, they turned on us.
Speaker B:So that's it.
Speaker B:Boom.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And he's like, jack, was gonna turn on you too.
Speaker A:And so we go from there back to the bunker where they debate if the tablet could have had this effect on Donatello.
Speaker A:And Cass is just like a prophet is a conduit, and the power should flow through him.
Speaker A:He shouldn't be tempted.
Speaker A:Then Sam points out that Donatello doesn't have a soul, which apparent cast didn't know.
Speaker B:Yeah, I thought that was an interesting thing too.
Speaker B:My cast.
Speaker B:Or I guess.
Speaker B:I mean, I remembered, but I kind.
Speaker A:Of forgot while we were doing this.
Speaker B:I never really thought that it would make matter at this point, I guess.
Speaker A:Well, I mean, that's why Donatello has been so loopy.
Speaker A:Because after Amaro ate us, he was always after Amara ate his soul.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:But then they're like, what?
Speaker A:Is that bad?
Speaker A:And apparently, if the know filters out the darkness.
Speaker A:Darkness.
Speaker A:Then it goes into a bit about what to do.
Speaker A:And Sam came back from not having a soul, and that is because death gave his soul back.
Speaker A:And so Cass suggests that they put him out of his misery after because there's any.
Speaker A:Another prophet would come in and they could just finish the translation.
Speaker A:So let's just do that.
Speaker B:And while this is happening, Sam is crashing out.
Speaker B:He is just like, we had a plan, and it's all over now.
Speaker B:And it's all.
Speaker B:And we're done.
Speaker B:And he's all getting negative Nancy about the plan.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:But he's also very adamant to no killing, so.
Speaker A:And they just need the spell.
Speaker A:And Cass says, fine.
Speaker A:And he cast stomps off and goes to the file room.
Speaker A:And the file room locks from the inside, which seems like a design flaw for Attention room.
Speaker B:Correct.
Speaker B:But he's gonna do what he's.
Speaker B:What he has to.
Speaker B:Which is what Dean told him earlier.
Speaker B:They're gonna do what they have to.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker A:And then we go to Apocalypse World, where Jack is happy.
Speaker A:He's gonna crush his dreams because everyone.
Speaker B:There is so brave.
Speaker B:And then he realizes that they can't stay there because of him.
Speaker B:And then they get bombed by angels.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:There is a ball of fire coming towards him, and Jack is there.
Speaker B:It's weird that the bombs are the angels, right?
Speaker B:Like, I know it sounds stupid, but,.
Speaker A:Like, very confusing if they're.
Speaker A:I think the angels also seem.
Speaker A:Smite them.
Speaker A:I think there's also smiting and angel bombs.
Speaker A:I think there's bombs that are angels.
Speaker A:And I think the angels also smite just with, like, fireballs.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker B:Just check.
Speaker A:Sort of.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:It's very confusing.
Speaker B:It is confusing.
Speaker A:So before we can Figure that out, though.
Speaker A:We go to the bunker, and Donatello says he might know the ingredients.
Speaker A:But, like, he told Sam and Dean he's wasting his time.
Speaker A:And Cass takes off his coat.
Speaker A:So, you know, he's serious because he doesn't want to get anything getting goo on the coat.
Speaker A:Super serious.
Speaker A:And he's like, I'm not Sam and Dean, and I'm gonna strip the spell.
Speaker A:He's gonna strip the spell from Donatello's mind.
Speaker A:And Donatello then points out something which we didn't really know about, that he has absorbed so much power.
Speaker A:So, like, while this tablet has been going through him and he's been reading and all that crazy stuff, like, that's been the power of God that has just been, like, soaking up in his brain.
Speaker A:So if Cass goes in to try and get the spell, it's going to zap them.
Speaker A:But Cash is like, I don't care.
Speaker B:Worth it.
Speaker B:Worth it.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:And Donatello is going to start to try and say another spell, and Cash just claps his.
Speaker A:Clamps his hand over his mouth and then fingers his head.
Speaker A:And that's how he gets in there.
Speaker B:Ew.
Speaker B:And his eyes are glowing.
Speaker B:And Donatello's yelling.
Speaker B:And Sam and Dean stand outside just, like, listening to the doctor.
Speaker B:Back in Apocalypse World, Mary and Jack are runting, running frantically, and get confronted by Bobby, who's pissed that Jack used his powers for stupid fucking shadow puppets because that's how the angels track them.
Speaker A:Which we don't know if that's true or not, but it could be.
Speaker B:It could be.
Speaker B:And I'm like, oh, yeah.
Speaker B:And so he gives Mary a gun and says, you go gather the children and take them to the tunnels under a cell under the cellar.
Speaker B:Well, Jack, you just.
Speaker B:Just go hide.
Speaker B:We don't want you to help.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker B:And so Mary's like, yeah, Jack, just go hide.
Speaker B:Just don't let them get you.
Speaker B:Sure I'm not helpful.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker A:And in the bunker, they open the door to the file dungeon, and Cass comes out, says he knows what he has to do, and he just leaves.
Speaker A:And Sam and Dean go and check on a fried Donatello.
Speaker B:Yeah, he's just sitting there limping.
Speaker B:In Apocalypse World, Zachariah is walking around killing people and tells the angels to find Jack and kill everyone else.
Speaker B:Which is a very, like, clear but awful instruction to give, I guess.
Speaker B:And while Jack is running, he hears all the people screaming.
Speaker B:And so he's listening to that, and it gives him pause.
Speaker B:And Mary finds a little kid.
Speaker B:And as she finds this kid, Zach, Zachariah finds her and it's about to be all bad, except Jack shows up.
Speaker B:And he is going to intervene and use his powers.
Speaker B:And he blasts Zachariah into the air and into a poof of smoke.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:He obliterates him.
Speaker A:Then he zaps those that were coming in.
Speaker B:Yeah, there's incoming.
Speaker B:And Bobby's watching this happen now.
Speaker B:And there's incoming angel missile thingies.
Speaker B:And he like.
Speaker B:It's like a missile missile interception happening like.
Speaker B:What do they call, like the iron.
Speaker B:It's like an iron dome.
Speaker A:So there you go.
Speaker B:I was going for anyways.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And so they all just blow up in the air.
Speaker B:And so Bobby and Mary are just kind of looking at him like, holy shit.
Speaker B:This guy has a lot of power.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:And the camp is then a little worse for wear after this all happens.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Bobby says thank you.
Speaker A:And Jack says that Sam and D would.
Speaker A:Wouldn't run.
Speaker A:They'd stay and fight.
Speaker A:And that's what he want.
Speaker A:He just wants to be like Sam and Dean.
Speaker A:But those angels aren't going to stop as long as Michael is out there.
Speaker A:And he knows what he has to do.
Speaker A:He has to kill Michael.
Speaker B:Yeah, he's pretty focused on it.
Speaker B:So back in the bunker, Castiel is pacing and Sam and Dean have been gone, obviously.
Speaker B:And they return and they inform him that basically Donatello is being alive but brain dead.
Speaker A:So brain dead profit.
Speaker A:Does that then not trigger another prophet?
Speaker B:Apparently not.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:And Cass says that he was a danger.
Speaker A:And also, did you know that he was working with Asmodeus?
Speaker A:And they're like, what?
Speaker A:And then he tells him that some people can't be saved.
Speaker A:And then Dean freaking Winchester has the balls to ask who gets to make that choice.
Speaker A:You.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker A:Like he hasn't done that dozens of times.
Speaker A:Okay, Mr. Winchester, whatever.
Speaker A:And nothing gave Cass the right.
Speaker A:But if he didn't, they would still be sitting around talking about what to do.
Speaker A:And war is coming.
Speaker A:He did what soldiers do.
Speaker A:And he got the spell to open the rift.
Speaker A:So again, this is his real, his one track cast mind that war is coming and we've got to take care of Michael.
Speaker A:But we did know he did learn what the ingredients are.
Speaker A:And at least they're not.
Speaker A:They don't seem that gross.
Speaker A:It just needs four major things.
Speaker A:Things.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:We need the grace of an archangel, which we knew before.
Speaker A:And they all do this.
Speaker A:Look, and Cass is like, I told you.
Speaker A:We still need the grace of an archangel.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:They need a fruit from the tree of life.
Speaker A:That does not seem easy to get the Seal of Solomon and the blood of a most holy man.
Speaker B:That's not very specific.
Speaker B:So two very different.
Speaker A:That's kind of vague.
Speaker B:Kind of vague.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:And the Seal of Solomon could be difficult, depending on what you think that is.
Speaker A:But I'm sure in supernatural land, it is just a.
Speaker A:On a ring that you found in the art.
Speaker A:It's.
Speaker A:It's.
Speaker A:It's in.
Speaker A:Filed.
Speaker A:It's in file number C in the.
Speaker A:In the.
Speaker A:In the.
Speaker A:In the bunker.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker A:Archives back there, probably.
Speaker B:That'd be convenient.
Speaker B:At least if they could have one thing in there, that'd be nice.
Speaker B:Give him one.
Speaker A:Well, they seem to have the other ingredients.
Speaker A:It seemed like they had the Virgin's land blood and the.
Speaker A:And the.
Speaker A:The.
Speaker A:The wolfsbane.
Speaker A:Well, you would have wolfsbane.
Speaker A:You know, I have wolf Spain.
Speaker A:Who doesn't have wolf Spain?
Speaker B:I don't have wolf Spain.
Speaker A:How do you keep the werewolves away?
Speaker B:God, I. I mean, I have two dogs in the house, remember?
Speaker B:I kind of want to upset them.
Speaker B:So.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So apparently they find these things, they can bring everyone home.
Speaker B:They can be Lucifer and they can beat Michael.
Speaker B:And it's the only way we can win.
Speaker B:It's the only way we can survive.
Speaker B:And they're gonna do like Dean said, whatever it takes.
Speaker A:Whatever it takes.
Speaker B:Cass is very serious.
Speaker A:Serious Cass.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:So do we have just a couple.
Speaker B:We had a couple.
Speaker B:Yeah, just a few.
Speaker B:Casting couch.
Speaker A:It's the casting couch.
Speaker C:Were they on that shoulder that time with that guy?
Speaker B:La la la la la la la.
Speaker C:La la la la.
Speaker B:A lot of, you know, a lot of people in this episode.
Speaker B:We know already, but we did have Zachariah and that.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Because.
Speaker A:Different from the old decora.
Speaker A:Because we had.
Speaker A:We had the brilliant.
Speaker B:Oh, my gosh, yes.
Speaker B:The other actor.
Speaker A:I like literally the other day.
Speaker A:Anyways.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:The brilliant other Zachariah.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:This is Chad Rook and he actually is in Supernatural a couple other times, but not a Zachariah.
Speaker B:This is.
Speaker B:He's been in episodes of Alcatraz, Bates Motel, I, Zombie, Once Upon a Time, the Flash, Virgin river, it.
Speaker B:Welcome to Derry.
Speaker B:And Billy the Kid.
Speaker B:He's Boyle in the movie War for the Planet of the Apes and is a reoccurring character named.
Speaker B:Named Chris in the series Siren.
Speaker A:Cool.
Speaker A:Kurt Fuller.
Speaker B:That's what it is.
Speaker B:That's our other Zachariah we've had.
Speaker B:Gog was played by Michael Johnson.
Speaker B:He's actually most of that was.
Speaker A:I wish they could, like, been like Loincloth number one or two.
Speaker B:He's I think this is the one that fought Dean.
Speaker B:I could be wrong, but he's done a lot of stunt work, including on Supernatural, Van Helsing and Arrow.
Speaker B: He's also been in episodes of: Speaker B:Cassio was played by Andre Tricoteau.
Speaker B:It's a very French spelling.
Speaker B:But he's also a stuntman and was.
Speaker B:Has did stunt work in both Deadpool 1 and 2, as well as Peter Pan and Wendy the Movie.
Speaker B:He's been in episodes of Once Upon a Time, Arrow, Travelers, Van Helsing, Altered Carbon, Riverdale.
Speaker B:He is in Charmed Umbrella Academy and Reginald the Vampire, and was a reoccurring character as the chief in Izombi.
Speaker A:Hail to the Chief.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Very cool.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Oh, man.
Speaker B:What do you think?
Speaker A:I. I think this was a fun episode, even with.
Speaker A:I mean, I think.
Speaker A:I just think the writing of it was just.
Speaker A:It was snappy enough that it keeps something that you.
Speaker A:There is such an element of darkness in Apocalypse World, just literally because it's gray.
Speaker A:And so you could.
Speaker A:It having just some of the.
Speaker A:The Huber breaks that we had in this episode, I think were necessary at least to keep my interest in.
Speaker A:It could have gone this.
Speaker A:It could have gone really dark.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And it could have been a bum.
Speaker B:It could have been a bummersville.
Speaker A:It could have been a Bummersville.
Speaker A:And they made Gog and Magog funny.
Speaker A:You know, that whole.
Speaker A:That whole exchange is delightful.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:And, you know, even though we've got Apocalypse World spicing up.
Speaker C:Yeah.
Speaker A:I still, you know, I still think we all hate Michael, obviously.
Speaker A:And now we hate Zachariah, too, but we hated that.
Speaker A:But.
Speaker A:Yeah, but he's dead.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:But, yeah, I think.
Speaker B:I think it was.
Speaker B:I agree.
Speaker B:I think it would feel like for a dark episode, it felt fun, which is a weird feeling.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:It was light.
Speaker A:For a dark episode.
Speaker B:She needs more dip.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker A:Definitely.
Speaker A:Definitely needs more dip.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker A:I think on that note.
Speaker A:Cheers, jerk.
Speaker B:Cheers, bitch.
