Liz:

On this week's episode of Devil's Trap podcast.

Liz:

Hero or psychopath?

Diana:

Depends.

Diana:

What's in your blue solo cup?

Diana:

Let's do this.

Diana:

Welcome to this week's episode of Devil's Trap podcast.

Diana:

I'm Diana.

Liz:

And I'm Liz.

Diana:

And we're back.

Diana:

It's season 10, episode one, Black, Black.

Liz:

Just one word.

Diana:

Just one word.

Diana:

Keep it simple.

Diana:

What have you been up to?

Liz:

You know, watching all the television.

Liz:

And so, you know, I've watched every single Christmas movie that's come out well.

Liz:

Okay.

Liz:

Things that are not on Hallmark.

Liz:

I've watched all the Christmas movies that are not on Hallmark.

Liz:

So Red one was.

Liz:

Was really good.

Liz:

So good.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

I really like the folklore of.

Liz:

It was.

Liz:

Made me happy.

Liz:

The fact that Sabrina played Grayla was the fact that Growler was in it.

Liz:

And then, like, it just.

Liz:

Yeah, it was just so.

Liz:

It touched all my buttons.

Liz:

And they didn't have, like.

Liz:

Didn't have a romance.

Liz:

It did have, like, the father son stuff in it.

Liz:

But, you know, it was.

Liz:

I just thought it was good.

Diana:

It was.

Diana:

I strong.

Diana:

Strongly appreciate your endorsement of it and I recommended it to multiple people as well.

Diana:

So.

Liz:

Yeah, no, it's.

Liz:

It's.

Liz:

It's good.

Liz:

It's action packed.

Liz:

It's a good way to waste some time.

Liz:

And so there was that.

Liz:

And then I.

Liz:

So just.

Liz:

This is a warning for you guys.

Liz:

I watched no Good Deeds, which is the new Lisa Kudrow, Ray Romano thing, and there's an episode where they lit.

Liz:

They started off with Wayward Son, and I was like, what the.

Liz:

I was like, did I screw up and, like, go to Supernatural?

Liz:

I was like, what the.

Liz:

I'm, like, trying to find my remote and being like, God damn it.

Liz:

Like, I didn't mean to put on the show.

Liz:

And then it was.

Liz:

It was still that show.

Liz:

They just opened with that.

Liz:

And I was like, you can't do that.

Liz:

I don't know why nobody told them that you can.

Liz:

There's only one show that is allowed to open with Kansas.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

It's forbidden for everybody else.

Liz:

It should be like.

Liz:

I don't.

Liz:

I don't understand why there is.

Liz:

I'm sure there's an F word.

Liz:

I'm just not, you know, on the things that people have uproars on.

Liz:

But yeah, so that was.

Liz:

Yeah, that.

Liz:

That's mainly been my stuff.

Liz:

I've been yelling at the TV a lot like.

Diana:

You do.

Diana:

Yeah, I mean, we're just.

Diana:

I think when.

Diana:

Whenever.

Diana:

When you can listen to this episode, it will be at Christmas time.

Diana:

So a lot of holiday prep and activities in my world.

Diana:

Yeah, I don't know.

Diana:

I went to some.

Diana:

I got to go to some cool parties.

Diana:

That's what I got.

Diana:

I don't know.

Liz:

And some of us just don't do those things.

Diana:

Well, to be clear, both were in the same night, so it wasn't like it's like spread out like I'm going to like a party every night.

Diana:

But I had an excuse to dress.

Liz:

Up Christmas festivities and you know.

Liz:

But you're really into the season and good for you.

Diana:

I am.

Diana:

I am a lover of the holidays personally.

Diana:

So.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So yeah, you know, getting to see.

Diana:

See some folks and be festive.

Diana:

Sure.

Liz:

So in Supernatural news, it has been confirmed that Padalecki is not getting a.

Liz:

A spin off from the firefighter show.

Liz:

They like his arc is just completing on there and they're like, it was really good.

Liz:

But like, no, that went like was a rumor.

Liz:

That went too far, I think.

Diana:

So.

Liz:

So he so far is still looking for a job, I guess, but we'll see where he goes.

Liz:

But I honestly, no offense, it's just I don't.

Liz:

That's not my flavor of show.

Liz:

And so kind of glad I don't have to.

Liz:

To watch that one.

Diana:

So selfishly glad that didn't work out.

Liz:

Selfishly glad he's good.

Liz:

They're gonna have to maybe find something else.

Liz:

So.

Liz:

Yeah.

Diana:

Nice.

Diana:

Well, yeah, so before between seasons, Liz informed me that there was a special, a 30 minute special that aired about Supernatural between season nine and season 10.

Liz:

Yeah, that was a very special Supernatural special.

Liz:

,:

Liz:

And because this season is also where they're having the 200th episode and it was included on the season 10 DVD and the Blu ray.

Liz:

And you can also still watch it on YouTube.

Diana:

Yeah, I'll.

Diana:

I'll put the.

Diana:

We'll put.

Diana:

We'll post a link in the stories at some point.

Diana:

So.

Diana:

So yes, you can check it out.

Diana:

It's a super enjoyable.

Diana:

I think, you know, it's easy to forget that we're.

Diana:

This is the tenth season right now.

Diana:

I know.

Diana:

Like, I don't know.

Diana:

And we're watching it in real time.

Diana:

I'm watching it like at a different pace than you would have watched it in real time like when it was coming out.

Diana:

So it's a little different I think in that regard.

Diana:

But that's like knowing that people had had like nine Years, basically invested at this point, whereas I've got four.

Diana:

I'm not like.

Diana:

But it's different when you're doing it that way, I think.

Diana:

Does that make sense?

Diana:

You know, so.

Diana:

So I think in hearing them, when you watch this, hearing the cast react to that, at that point, it's pretty cool.

Diana:

And then also, you think about what we've seen with them speaking since then about the series.

Diana:

It's just like.

Diana:

It's kind of a.

Diana:

Nice to go back and hear that.

Diana:

I thought I.

Diana:

I enjoyed it.

Diana:

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

So that was something they did in the.

Liz:

You know, in between seasons.

Liz:

Also before season 10.

Liz:

Like, so it was renewed on February 13, and on March 24, Misha was saying, you know, that it was not confirmed that he was going to be in season 10.

Liz:

They hadn't made an offer yet.

Liz:

So a fan campaign was started that included tweeting and sending 3,000 postcards and ties to the producers.

Liz:

And then he was announced as a series regular on May 9th.

Liz:

And then shortly after that, Mark Shepard was promoted to a series regular for season 10, too.

Liz:

So we know that we're gonna have both of them for all the seasons.

Liz:

So that's good.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

And the title, Black.

Liz:

According to Supernatural Wiki, the episode's title could be a reference to the Pearl Jam song Black, which is about a man lamenting the loss of his girlfriend or significant other, which.

Liz:

I mean, isn't that what all of Pearl Jam songs are like?

Diana:

I like.

Diana:

Wait, wait, did it.

Diana:

I guess.

Diana:

I.

Diana:

I'm sure they read the published lyrics because that's the only way you can understand anybody.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

And it says.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

The ideas and lyrics are somewhat reflected by Crowley's comments during his phone conversation with Sam.

Diana:

Okay.

Liz:

I don't know.

Liz:

I.

Diana:

Sure.

Liz:

Sure.

Liz:

I'm not gonna go look them up or listen to this Pearl Jam to figure that out.

Diana:

But they couldn't get the rights to the song to use it.

Liz:

Maybe.

Liz:

I don't know any better.

Liz:

Seems like he would give his rights away.

Diana:

So everything's for sale, right?

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

,:

Liz:

It was directed by Robert Singer and written by Jeremy Carver, who was still the showrunner at this time.

Liz:

The.

Liz:

The showrunner from last year is still.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

So.

Liz:

And then if you watch this on Netflix, I don't know what the Netflix is doing.

Liz:

They took away the recap.

Diana:

The then.

Diana:

There's no then.

Liz:

There's no then.

Liz:

It just starts with now.

Liz:

Now.

Liz:

And so if you want to see the seasons recap.

Liz:

It was basically the season nine recap, which is the.

Liz:

Then go look it up on YouTube and you basically, you have to look.

Liz:

I forgot how I found it, but season 10, episode one heartbreak, heartbreaker.

Liz:

Because they use Pat Benatar's Heartbreaker as the music in it.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

And so that was how I found the intro.

Liz:

Because I like, I know there's a intro.

Liz:

Like, I went and looked at the transcript.

Liz:

I was like, yes, there is.

Liz:

And so.

Diana:

Whereas I just assumed that there wasn't for some reason since I was like, well, the last episode ended.

Diana:

So, like, the cliffhanger ended abruptly.

Diana:

They just jumped right in.

Diana:

No, there was.

Diana:

There was one, apparently.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

So I don't know if it's just Netflix thinking that they don't need to see a recap or what, but whatever, bring it back.

Liz:

Or maybe.

Liz:

Maybe it was a right to Pat Benatar song.

Diana:

Who knows?

Liz:

Who knows?

Liz:

If you know, let us know.

Diana:

Well, our recap is basically just a recap of the entire season nine shot or edited very well.

Diana:

As Liz and I were discussing before we started.

Diana:

It was edited really well.

Diana:

I will point out that it's slightly.

Diana:

Not chronological with the episodes, but.

Diana:

But that told a clearer story.

Liz:

Oh, my God.

Liz:

Oh, no.

Liz:

They took it on a crowd of logical.

Diana:

It was just odd.

Diana:

No, it was just odd.

Diana:

If you're trying to like, hey, this is the recap of what happened last season.

Diana:

To not have it in order, but it made it told the story more clearly.

Diana:

So, yeah, that's pretty much while Heartbreaker played.

Diana:

It was good.

Liz:

Yeah.

Diana:

Enjoyable.

Diana:

So, yeah, now we've got a dar.

Diana:

Our demon is chained up and she is bloody.

Diana:

And she is talking about Winchester being one of them because she's a demon and Sam is torturing her.

Liz:

Well, the thing is, is that they're saying that there's a Winchester.

Liz:

It becomes one of them.

Liz:

And look at you.

Liz:

And remember, everybody has been waiting for three.

Liz:

Three months after seeing Dean with black guy.

Liz:

So everybody thinks that she's talking about Dean.

Liz:

And everybody's prepared for that.

Liz:

And then she's like, look at you.

Liz:

And then.

Liz:

But they fooled you because it's Sam that's torturing her and not Dean.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

Accurate.

Diana:

And she.

Diana:

He wants Crowley's location and therefore Dean's.

Diana:

And she's not going to tell or can't tell or won't tell.

Diana:

And he slices her throat to make a blood bowl phone, basically, with a solo cup.

Liz:

And so he's got like this, basically his red solo cup.

Liz:

But it's blue and it's under her neck.

Liz:

And he wants her to make a call.

Liz:

And she's like, no, everyone's under order is not to answer where Crowley is.

Liz:

And she's super crying.

Diana:

She's.

Diana:

Yeah, she's very upset and crying.

Diana:

And Sam's just yelling, where's my brother?

Liz:

And so we go from intense.

Diana:

It's a little intense.

Liz:

It's a little intense.

Liz:

Where's my brothers?

Liz:

We know that we're going to have a lot of intense, Sam.

Liz:

And we flash to a new title card.

Liz:

And last season we had angel wings.

Liz:

And this one's an inverted pentagram.

Liz:

So we're going to have a little bit of lore here just to talk about pentagrams, because I like to.

Liz:

So first, this is according to the supernatural wiki.

Liz:

Whereas a normal pentagram or pentacle can be seen as a symbol of protection, the inverted pentagram signifies the descent of spirit into matter or the carnal and ungodly side of being mankind.

Liz:

So we'll get back to that.

Liz:

But first, pentagram versus pentacle.

Liz:

Because sometimes it's very easy to.

Liz:

To forget which is which.

Liz:

So tldr, the pentacle is a circle with the pentagram in it.

Liz:

So the pentagram is the star.

Liz:

And then the pentacle is what happens when you have a pentagram and a circle.

Liz:

And a circle around the pentagram is supposed to act as a barrier to steal in the incantation and the magic of the pen.

Liz:

Pentagram, Cool.

Liz:

All right.

Liz:

So pentagrams have been around for thousands of years.

Liz:

They have been found in the Middle East Tyrus Euphrates region dating back to as far as 6,000 BCE.

Liz:

They were found in the language culture around of China.

Liz:

w up in Israel dating back to:

Liz:

The Sumerians had them.

Liz:

Scholars believe the five points represented the five visible planets of the night sky at the time because, you know, they didn't have television telescopes where they could see planets.

Liz:

Right, right.

Liz:

se ancient Samaria was around:

Liz:

So for A while around 300 to 150 BCE, the pentagram was a symbol of Jerusalem.

Liz:

And they basically had the five Hebrew letters spelling its name being the points.

Liz:

Then the ancient Greek Pythagoreans, there was a cult around Pythagoras.

Liz:

If you don't know, that's.

Liz:

And if you remember the Pythagorean equation like I do, a Squared plus B squared equals C squared.

Liz:

Why?

Liz:

Why?

Liz:

Why do I remember that?

Liz:

Does it do me any good?

Liz:

Nope, Nope.

Liz:

But he had a cult, and so they would use the pentagram as their symbol also because it embodies the golden ratio.

Liz:

And so this is a symbol of harmony and health to them.

Liz:

During the Middle Ages, Christians adopted it to represent the five crucifixion wounds of Jesus and therefore was also used as protection.

Liz:

During the Renaissance, Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa and others started using the pentagram as the magical symbol.

Liz:

More kind of more as we think of it today.

Liz:

Agrippa depicted the human's body in the upright pentagram.

Liz:

I think you can probably picture that, you know, that da Vinci did it too.

Liz:

But basically the person who's like, starred out and then.

Liz:

And so sometimes his hands are also pentagrams.

Liz:

That's fun.

Liz:

By the mid 19th century, occultists began associating the pentagram's orientation with different meanings.

Liz:

With the single point upwards, it symbolized spirit ruling over matter and was considered good.

Liz:

And people like the occultist.

Liz:

His first name was Eliphas or Eliphas.

Liz:

Levi deemed the inverted pentagram evil, representing matter triumphing over spirit, chaos, and sinister forces.

Liz:

So he said a reverse pentagram with two points projecting upwards is a symbol of evil and attracts sinister forces because it overturns the proper order of things and demonstrates the triumph of matter over spirit.

Liz:

It is the Goat of Lust attacking the heavens with its horns, a sign execrated by initiates.

Liz:

The flaming star, when turned upside down, is the hieroglyphic sign of the Goat of Black magic, whose head may be drawn in the star.

Liz:

The two horns at the top, the ears to the right and left, the beard at the bottom.

Liz:

It is a sign of antagonism and fatality.

Liz:

It is again the goat of Lust attacking the heavens with its horns.

Liz:

I just love the goat of Lust attacking the heavens with its horns.

Liz:

So Aleister Crowley used the pentagram a lot in Thelema, his system of magic, using the inverted pentagram to represent the descent of spirit into matter.

Liz:

This contradicted his old friends, the Hermetic Order of the golden dawn, who followed Levi's idea that this orientation made it evil.

Liz:

All right, so upright versus inverted and the other and some other types of pentagrams.

Liz:

So the upright pentagram with the single upward point typically symbolizes the spirit's dominance over the elements embodying protection, light and divine connection.

Liz:

It is linked to benevolent magic, harmony with nature, and is associated with right hand path magic.

Liz:

Conversely, the inverted pentagram with two Upper points is often associated with the physical realms, dominance over the spiritual and practices focused on individualism and is associated with the left hand path, AKA Crowley.

Liz:

So inverted also began really being associated with Satanism in the 20th century.

Liz:

So that's really where that starts happening.

Liz:

We'll get back to that in a second.

Liz:

There is the.

Liz:

Also the Tetragrammaton pimp pentagram.

Liz:

I just wanted to see if I could say that word.

Liz:

So this is Levi's pentagram.

Liz:

And so he took the five pointed star, put it within a circle to symbolize the blending of the earthly elements with the spiritual realms, and then surrounded it with the Tetragrammaton, which is the covenantal name of God.

Liz:

So it enhances the spiritual resonance of the pentagram.

Liz:

He incorporated Hebrew letters and alchemical symbol symbols within the pentagram, including representations of Adam and Eve, to highlight humanity's intrinsic connection to the cosmos.

Liz:

So that's the one where you just see kind of like lots of symbols and things around it and things like.

Liz:

That's a tetragrammaton.

Liz:

And then the last one I'll talk about is the Baphomet pentagram.

Liz:

This is the official symbol of the Church of Satan.

Liz:

It has a point down orientation to allow them to put the goat's head inside the Church of Satan, specifically associates it with the Goat of Mendes, which they also call Baphomet.

Liz:

The point down figure represents the spirit subsumed by the four physical elements, rejecting the notion that the physical world is dirty and taboo and that the spirit should rise above it.

Liz:

The first appearance of the goat was by.

Liz:

d Le Clef de la magic noir in:

Liz:

And so because of, you know, just kind of the things I think is really interesting about the pentagrams too is just kind of, it's, it's rise in the pentacle is rise and fall within culture.

Liz:

Right.

Liz:

We can kind of, you can kind of see that history of it's gone.

Liz:

It's been around for a while.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

e, but really almost like the:

Liz:

Right.

Liz:

And for the longest time they weren't.

Liz:

You weren't allowed to put that on a soldier's grave.

Liz:

But now pentagrams are included in, specifically the physical is included in these symbols that can be put on to the official, you know, The.

Liz:

The US Sanctioned soldier scrapes and, you know, there was a lot of schools where, you know, in the 90s where, you know, I'm sure it's probably going to come back soon, but where pentagrams and were being, you know, like banned from school because they were like being associated with Satan and whatnot.

Liz:

But, you know, it'll come and go in and out of fashion, but.

Liz:

And I was just like, you know, taught you so.

Liz:

And the.

Liz:

So the inverted pentagram is not necessarily evil.

Liz:

It just depends on what your.

Liz:

What your religious practice is or just kind of what your belief and just, you know, what you want to put on it.

Liz:

Any questions?

Liz:

All right, so no, that.

Liz:

That will be our.

Liz:

We'll.

Liz:

We'll see that.

Liz:

So you think about.

Diana:

Sounds like a lot of symbols.

Diana:

I think a lot of.

Diana:

A lot of ancient symbols.

Diana:

I think that that applies to too.

Diana:

Is really what.

Diana:

And then modern.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

Swastika is a great example of that as well.

Diana:

But, you know, it's just.

Diana:

It's how.

Diana:

How it's never going back.

Liz:

But, you know.

Diana:

No, no, no.

Diana:

That.

Diana:

That ship has sailed.

Liz:

That ship has sailed.

Liz:

But you know, you can still, like, the thing is like, you say that, but if you go into, like, if you go to India, you can still buy tons of fabric with swastikas all over it because it doesn't mean the same thing, you know, so.

Diana:

No, no, no.

Diana:

Know what?

Diana:

If that's a.

Diana:

There's a Western perception.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

So, you know, symbol's gonna.

Liz:

Symbol.

Diana:

Yeah, but that is.

Liz:

But that is why the.

Liz:

The.

Liz:

The inverted pentagram is used in the opening of Supernatural for the.

Liz:

For the season.

Diana:

So there we go.

Liz:

There we go.

Liz:

All right, so we are now going to.

Liz:

Four weeks after Sam made his solo cup.

Liz:

Or at least we.

Liz:

We assume trying to make the solo cup blend boat.

Liz:

I want to see that uses the blood bowl.

Diana:

Like I do too.

Diana:

I was kind of like.

Diana:

We kind of got jipped, right?

Liz:

Yeah.

Diana:

Like the solo cup.

Diana:

I don't know.

Diana:

All right, so Sam solo cup.

Liz:

All right, so Sam is also reading the best books.

Liz:

He's reading Demonic Possession A practitioner.

Liz:

A Practitioner's Guide to Exorcisms and Rituals of Human Possession.

Diana:

Yeah, I figured you were jealous of this collection, so.

Liz:

Yeah, I want those so bad.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And he's talking on the phone about just like to.

Diana:

To presumably another hunter about just lack of.

Diana:

Of.

Diana:

Of demon activity.

Diana:

But he's watching crop trends and his arm is in a sling, interestingly.

Liz:

Yeah, I will get back to that.

Liz:

I'm going to save that.

Liz:

There.

Liz:

There's.

Liz:

I have insight on that.

Liz:

But he's also.

Liz:

We also get to see his skincare routine.

Diana:

We do it.

Diana:

Washes his face very aggressively.

Diana:

And then he goes and stands and stares at Dean's bed and rereads the note.

Diana:

Says, sammy, let me go.

Diana:

Without punctuation.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

Does he just leave us on this pillow?

Diana:

And then, like, perfectly.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

Like.

Diana:

Yeah, there should be, like a dash, a comma, anything after Sammy.

Diana:

It's very annoying to me.

Diana:

No.

Liz:

So then Sam, you know, hits a jackpot because he finds an article about a missing man that's been found slain.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So he's got a case.

Diana:

And so he calls Castiel and.

Diana:

Who is coughing in bed in a weird motel room.

Liz:

He does not sound good.

Diana:

No, he sounds terrible.

Diana:

And basically, he explains.

Diana:

So Sam explains to Cass what he found.

Diana:

And this guy's been missing for three years.

Diana:

He had murdered his family.

Diana:

And Cass is just, like, coughing a lot.

Diana:

So Sam's like, oh, I probably shouldn't have called him.

Diana:

I was wrong.

Diana:

Never mind.

Diana:

I'm gonna back up on this.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

And this is where.

Liz:

Okay, so I told you we're gonna come back to this.

Liz:

So, yes, Cass blames Sam shoulder on a demon.

Liz:

And what really happened is that he was wrestling Osric Chow, AKA Kevin, at a convention in Italy and basically dislocated his shoulder like a child.

Diana:

That's hilarious.

Liz:

Yeah, but they had.

Liz:

But he was arm is in a sling, and they had to.

Liz:

So they just put it in that he got in a fight with the demon.

Diana:

And.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And Sam's just like, no, Cass, you just need to worry about yourself.

Diana:

We're just.

Diana:

We just.

Diana:

We're just both tired.

Diana:

We want Dean back.

Diana:

Wamp, wamp.

Diana:

If it's even still Dean.

Diana:

Okay, we.

Liz:

And Cassie, I was just like, I miss my boyfriend.

Diana:

And then we cut to karaoke night and someone is singing.

Diana:

Right.

Diana:

Said Fred.

Diana:

Too sexy for my shirt.

Diana:

Who could this someone be that would pick this horrible song for karaoke?

Liz:

Who is this evil?

Diana:

Who is this evil?

Diana:

This evil is Dean Winchester.

Liz:

And he's being booed off.

Liz:

And, you know, I don't understand this karaoke bar because karaoke shouldn't be good.

Liz:

And even when somebody's bad, you don't boo them off.

Liz:

You encourage them to be worse.

Diana:

I mean, maybe.

Diana:

I don't know.

Diana:

As this episode.

Liz:

Said Fred.

Diana:

Well, I don't know.

Diana:

Bright.

Diana:

Said Fred.

Diana:

That's it.

Diana:

That's the only one.

Diana:

I'm trying to get the benefit of the doubt here.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

All right.

Diana:

Well, Crowley's there talking to some other people, and Dean is, I guess, banging the waitress.

Diana:

I don't know.

Diana:

It's.

Diana:

So we cut to the bedroom, and she.

Diana:

They're talking about their great sex, but then he just straight up tells her not to get attached.

Diana:

And she's like, you know, there's other ways she could have said that.

Liz:

Yeah, he just goes full douche.

Liz:

And just, like, the thing that every woman wants to hear right after you.

Liz:

Somebody don't get too attached to me, darling.

Liz:

I'm just rolling through you, man.

Liz:

Like, also say that before I.

Liz:

You don't say that after I.

Liz:

You.

Diana:

Right.

Diana:

It's real weird.

Diana:

Anyway, so Crowley walks in while she's getting dressed.

Diana:

Apparently, all of this was happening on Crowley's bed, is the implication.

Diana:

I don't know.

Diana:

It's.

Diana:

It's a.

Diana:

It's a goofy little scene as she gets dressed.

Diana:

And then Crowley calls Dean a jerk, and Dean calls Crowley.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

So this is the new bitch and jerk.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And.

Diana:

And our.

Diana:

Our Anne Marie, our waitress tells them to get a room.

Liz:

Well, they already have one.

Liz:

And he just.

Liz:

On his bed.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

So, I mean, but now you just switch beds.

Liz:

That's what.

Liz:

That's how that works.

Diana:

Exactly.

Diana:

Duh.

Diana:

So then they go back.

Diana:

We go back to the bar, and.

Diana:

Because there's a very, very various, very serious game of foosball that has to go down.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

And these are these two guys that we saw Crowley, like, talking to, like, very, very, like, intensely while Dean was singing.

Liz:

And apparently he was talking about the.

Diana:

Foosball game, which is silly, but.

Diana:

Okay, go.

Diana:

So now we've got a foosball for beer.

Diana:

I don't know.

Diana:

And while they're playing, Crowley's trying to talk to Dean about Anne Marie.

Diana:

I don't know.

Liz:

It's.

Diana:

It's an odd exchange, but while this game is taking place, some dude is getting really, like, rude and handsy with her in the bar.

Diana:

So Dean flips his.

Diana:

Follows the guy outside, punches him a.

Liz:

Lot, but generally just makes everybody uncomfortable.

Liz:

And it's like that moment where it is like, oh, yeah, cool.

Liz:

You're defending this girl.

Liz:

This, you know, getting, like, gripped on a bite.

Liz:

And they go, oh, oh, oh, no.

Liz:

This has gone horribly wrong.

Diana:

Way too far.

Diana:

Too far.

Diana:

Too far.

Diana:

Too far.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And she just looks kind of, like, shocked and unimpressed.

Diana:

And Dean has to go back inside.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

And there's somebody with, like, really big eyebrows who's also watching this.

Diana:

Staring him down.

Diana:

Staring him down.

Diana:

Back at Crowley or Crowley.

Diana:

Goodness.

Diana:

Castiel's Motel.

Diana:

Castiel's at his motel room.

Diana:

Hannah shows up, and he answers the door with his robe open.

Diana:

And it's awkward for her.

Diana:

And then she seems like.

Liz:

It's kind of, like, awkward in a good way.

Diana:

She does not seem upset.

Liz:

She's just like, oh, your robe's open.

Diana:

This is awkward.

Diana:

But, like.

Diana:

So he gets dressed.

Liz:

We learned that the angels have made a collective.

Liz:

They have not elected a leader.

Liz:

They're just having a lot of meetings.

Liz:

And maybe we're finally going to get an anarcho collective, but it doesn't seem to be going well.

Liz:

And Hannah is just like, we need your help.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

It's not.

Diana:

It's not the most effective structure, typically, but that's okay.

Liz:

Political debate about the.

Diana:

The.

Liz:

The.

Liz:

The glory of a collective versus an authoritarian government.

Liz:

But, you know, sure.

Liz:

Hannah and Heaven, though, they really need his help.

Liz:

And there are rogue angels that are around.

Liz:

Right.

Diana:

Right.

Diana:

Because there are Daniel and Adina are the angels that don't want to go back to heaven.

Diana:

And they killed an angel that was sent to retrieve them.

Liz:

And Hannah thinks they must be found and punished for the sake of all, which is a very scary thing to say.

Diana:

So she wants Cass's help.

Diana:

Sam is visiting the Portage County, Wisconsin Sheriff's office.

Diana:

Drew.

Diana:

See about the investigation into Drew Neely's murder.

Diana:

But it might not actually be a murder because they've got some interesting footage to show him.

Diana:

And we get a flip back and forth several times.

Diana:

Dean's at the Silver Spur, and I don't know, he's about to fight the dude that was watching him fight, beat up the other guy.

Liz:

Eyebrow.

Diana:

While in the.

Diana:

In the footage, we see that Dean was actually at the.

Diana:

Whatever The.

Diana:

The gas station.

Diana:

What is the Sip and shop?

Diana:

What is it?

Liz:

Gas and Sip.

Diana:

Like Gas and Sip.

Liz:

I always get that one wrong.

Liz:

It's a Gas and Sip.

Diana:

So he's just sitting there.

Diana:

He just wanted to read a porno mag at the Gas and Sip.

Diana:

That's what he wanted.

Diana:

But no, apparently, apparently he's gonna get attacked by Drew Neely and then going to get stabbed by Dean Winchester.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

And Dean just beats his ass.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And then while that's going down on the footage, Dean is beating down this guy for being, like, the douche at the gas station.

Diana:

He can't accept that the is dead.

Diana:

These apparently, are Abaddon's followers who are now tracking down Dean.

Liz:

And the Eyebrow Demon and the Neely guy.

Liz:

They all both have angel blades.

Liz:

Like, why does everybody have an angel blade now?

Liz:

Like, you're demons.

Liz:

You shouldn't have.

Liz:

What.

Liz:

What is going on?

Liz:

Do we just, like, run out of, like, weapon props?

Liz:

And we just had to go through and be like, I guess we're giving everybody angel blades now.

Diana:

Apparently.

Diana:

Apparently, they all have them.

Diana:

That's just.

Diana:

That's just what they all needed to have now.

Diana:

Which makes kind of no sense why the demons would have those, but.

Diana:

Okay, so anyways, they've got.

Diana:

When they didn't have them before, suddenly they all have them.

Diana:

It's a thing.

Diana:

So the sheriff is telling Sam.

Diana:

He's like, look, I don't know if this guy is a hero or a psychopath.

Diana:

And we're all kind of like, yes is the answer.

Diana:

We're talking about Dean Winchester.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

And so he's just like, well, this is.

Liz:

His picture is getting uploaded to the wire, so.

Liz:

So I'm just gonna leave you alone with my computer and.

Liz:

Yeah, that's fine.

Liz:

Like, you're a fed, right?

Liz:

This is cool.

Liz:

Just.

Diana:

Just.

Liz:

God, quit just giving people your computers, officers.

Liz:

Like, it's not.

Liz:

Okay.

Diana:

Well, Sam clicks through the.

Diana:

Still.

Diana:

The.

Diana:

The frames and finds where he can see.

Diana:

Dean's eyes are black.

Diana:

So he's got confirmed.

Liz:

And it really just looks like they just did some very quick photoshop on Dean's eyes.

Liz:

And I'm just like, probably.

Diana:

It's probably what happened.

Liz:

Just like.

Liz:

Okay, we don't want to bother you with you putting contacts in.

Liz:

We're just gonna take.

Diana:

So we cut to this dude's house, and this dude is working out really hard in his home gym.

Diana:

Good for you, sir.

Diana:

And someone is making breakfast for him.

Liz:

It's like the Peloton commercial.

Liz:

There's just, like, a towel hanging over it.

Liz:

But no, he is.

Liz:

He is getting his workout in.

Liz:

He's getting his protein.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

Is what his.

Diana:

A female significant other of some kind.

Diana:

And son are there in the kitchen, and while he's working out, a fax comes in on their home fax machine.

Liz:

Because he has a home fax machine.

Diana:

Yes, he has a home fax machine.

Diana:

That's why I have to keep saying his home fax in his kitchen.

Liz:

If I was.

Liz:

Man.

Liz:

Like, if I was like that to that kid, though.

Liz:

Like.

Liz:

And this was like, the 90s.

Liz:

Like, you'd be so lucky.

Liz:

Me.

Liz:

And you'll be faxing so many.

Diana:

Yeah, you would.

Diana:

So it's a fax.

Diana:

It doesn't say who it's from.

Diana:

And kid retrieves it, hands it to the.

Diana:

The guy, and she's like, is it him?

Diana:

And she's crying and she leaves.

Diana:

And this guy goes and like, starts loading up an arsenal into.

Diana:

I say that.

Diana:

Arsenal.

Diana:

Like, whatever.

Diana:

He's got a locker full of guns that he.

Liz:

Yeah, it was like.

Liz:

It's a gun safe or something.

Liz:

We're seeing from the inside.

Diana:

Is that a chrome shotgun, though?

Diana:

Because that was pretty cool looking.

Liz:

I didn't.

Liz:

Yeah, I missed that one.

Diana:

I think I saw a chrome or.

Diana:

Or like a fully polished shotgun.

Diana:

And I'm like, oh, that's pretty.

Liz:

And then while these.

Diana:

Doing.

Liz:

There's a.

Liz:

Showing these things around and there's a lot of.

Liz:

There's like a military pick.

Liz:

So we were like, okay.

Liz:

Like, you clearly are some sort of military dude.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

We still don't know who you are, though.

Diana:

We just have no idea who you are.

Diana:

But we find out that the fax is a picture of Dean from the.

Diana:

The gas and sip.

Diana:

And it says.

Diana:

Yup.

Diana:

Why you pee.

Diana:

Yep.

Diana:

On it.

Diana:

So there we go.

Diana:

So somebody's looking for Dean.

Diana:

Castiel and Hannah are driving.

Diana:

She has to get out.

Diana:

They just pull over and so she can get out and get some air.

Diana:

Because apparently angels can get nauseous.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

From Cass's sick ride.

Liz:

Because it's just been bumping the whole way.

Diana:

I mean, those land yachts, they do ride a very specific way.

Liz:

Well, the hydraulics were going off at the beginning of it.

Diana:

That's true too.

Diana:

That's not really the way.

Diana:

But he.

Diana:

She's worried about his lack of grace and how he's gonna feel.

Diana:

And he just keeps insisting he feels fine.

Diana:

And she's like, no, no, no.

Diana:

You're dying because of your lack of grace, dude.

Diana:

And he's like, no, mission's more important.

Diana:

So.

Liz:

And then.

Liz:

But then he's also very adamant that he doesn't want an angel to die for his needs.

Liz:

Right.

Liz:

And he says in a way that really puts her off.

Liz:

And it's just kind of like, oh.

Liz:

And then suddenly they have to leave because now they're both uncomfortable.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So Sam goes to question Mickey, our clerk at the Gas and Sip about the attack of Porn guy.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

Porn by Porn guy.

Diana:

Porn guy beat up Drew.

Diana:

He's.

Diana:

He said there was a lots of blood.

Diana:

And he gives a very descriptive.

Diana:

You know.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

And apparently Dean was once again yelling, say my name.

Liz:

Say my name.

Liz:

And this is like porn guy or.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

And how would this.

Liz:

How would this angel know his name?

Liz:

Like, you didn't introduce yourself.

Liz:

And I'm sure be like, I can't say your name.

Diana:

I don't know what it is.

Diana:

Oh, no.

Diana:

This.

Diana:

This demon would know his name because the demon was after him.

Liz:

That's true.

Diana:

You have to know who he was.

Liz:

In his text next.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So Sam's kind of annoyed that the clerk doesn't have more intel on this.

Diana:

And the clerk makes a really good point.

Diana:

He's like, yeah, I'm just standing here myself while this dude is getting killed in front of me, and I'm gonna, like, try to gather some intel, bro.

Liz:

Also, I'm a dude that works at the Gas and Sip, and I still work here after I watch somebody getting stabbed a lot.

Liz:

I think I'd quit that job.

Liz:

I'm just saying.

Diana:

But he did find the victim's cell phone, which he hands over to Sam.

Diana:

And Sam quickly, quickly, quickly, is able to find the anti Winchester pro Abaddon text messages.

Diana:

So, yeah, so he's going to use this phone right away to call Crowley.

Liz:

Crowley answers the number that sent the message, and the phone rings to Crowley, right?

Diana:

And it's Crowley who says, you're dead.

Diana:

And Sam's, like, just using a dead man's phone.

Diana:

So Crowley knows it's Moose.

Diana:

And so now we have figured out that the attacks.

Diana:

This is two attacks on Dean could have been.

Diana:

And we find out in this conversation that were staged by Crowley, which is kind of.

Liz:

And they're a spoke, but they were still Abaddon followers.

Diana:

They were Abaddon followers, but Crowley set these up to attack Dean, so.

Diana:

And.

Diana:

And Sam's like, well, my brother's dead anyways.

Diana:

And Crowley then explains, no, actually, it's not a demon inhabiting Dean's body.

Diana:

It's actually Dean.

Diana:

This.

Diana:

Because of the mark.

Diana:

It basically like the.

Diana:

That his soul turned into a demon soul, kind of.

Liz:

It's so he's so twisted that it twisted himself demonic.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So he became a demon.

Diana:

Dean became a demon.

Diana:

A demon didn't inhabit Dean.

Liz:

Correct.

Diana:

That was harder to say than it seemed.

Diana:

Just so you know.

Diana:

So.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So pretty crazy.

Diana:

And Sam's like, what the ever.

Diana:

I'm still going to find y'all.

Diana:

I'm gonna save my brother, and I'm gonna kill you, Crowley.

Diana:

Y'all aren't best friends.

Diana:

I'm.

Diana:

I don't.

Diana:

I won't allow it.

Diana:

You can't be.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

And Crowley's just like, you're just jealous of me.

Liz:

And they're gonna write books about us like the Misadventures of Growley and Squirrel.

Diana:

And Good Luck Finding Us by.

Diana:

So.

Diana:

But in the midst of this, while Sam was on the dead guy's phone.

Diana:

He was using his own cell phone to track the location of the number that he was calling Crowley on.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

And he's doing this all while he's pumping gas.

Liz:

And there's a woman just getting gas on the other side of him.

Liz:

And I just imagine, like, just being the woman at that pump.

Liz:

I'm just hearing somebody, like, the yelling.

Liz:

Like, all the.

Liz:

That Sam was yelling on the other side and just being like, why?

Liz:

I just wanted to get gas today.

Diana:

Like, five bucks is fine.

Diana:

I don't need to fill up.

Diana:

It's fine.

Liz:

It's fine.

Diana:

There's a gas station down the road.

Liz:

It's fine.

Diana:

Well, Cassiel and Hannah are now in the woods.

Diana:

There is a truck and a tent covered in sigils.

Diana:

And they find Daniel, the angel, fishing in a creek.

Diana:

It's actually quite lovely and peaceful and pretty.

Diana:

And Castiel's like, what.

Diana:

He talks about fishing.

Diana:

And Daniel talks about how much he likes fishing and.

Diana:

Anyways, and then metaphor.

Diana:

It's a metaphor for freedom and stuff.

Diana:

Because basically his whole thing is that, like, he does not want to be taken back to heaven.

Diana:

He likes the freedom that he has found on Earth.

Diana:

And Hannah's like, that's nice, but that.

Diana:

You're.

Diana:

You're under heaven's command.

Diana:

Come on, you gots to go.

Diana:

Not optional.

Diana:

And.

Diana:

But Daniel's like, look, we fell.

Diana:

And I didn't want to fall, but now I'm here.

Diana:

And so I kind of like it.

Diana:

There's freedom and individualism and choices.

Diana:

I found myself, and I want to keep that.

Diana:

Thanks.

Diana:

And Hannah's gonna stab his ass, which is not nice.

Diana:

And also, it's not what Castiel signed up for, because he does not like that.

Diana:

So.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

And he just wants his.

Liz:

Like, let's listen to the time where we're gonna.

Liz:

We're gonna talk it out.

Liz:

We don't use dabby.

Liz:

We gotta wait for the.

Liz:

Where this woman is.

Liz:

Anyway.

Liz:

And then Daniel says something ominous about the nighttime being Revelation.

Liz:

Revelation.

Liz:

And that's just.

Liz:

This is kind of creepy when he says it.

Diana:

I thought he was talking about, like, how pretty, like, the.

Diana:

The sunset was.

Diana:

Yes.

Liz:

But I also.

Liz:

Everything.

Liz:

I.

Liz:

It just becomes ominous.

Liz:

Especially when we use the words revelation on the show.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

That's fair.

Diana:

Well, back at our bar, Crowley is admitting to Dean that he sent those demons to keep Dean sharp.

Diana:

And that because the mark must be sated.

Diana:

Gross.

Diana:

I don't like that anyways.

Diana:

But, I mean, it's not wrong.

Diana:

It just sounds gross.

Diana:

And so they have.

Diana:

He wants.

Diana:

Anyways it's basically that Crowley's like, look, we just got to figure out a professional future because I'm over this bar.

Diana:

We did this.

Diana:

Okay, let's go.

Diana:

We got.

Diana:

You got your wings and your karaoke.

Diana:

Let's go now.

Diana:

And Dean's like, no, you said, we're gonna hell the moon, and I'm having fun.

Liz:

And I also don't want to go, but I don't want to work.

Liz:

That sounds awful.

Liz:

So I want to do this.

Diana:

This is.

Diana:

This is what I want to do.

Diana:

You said we could do this.

Diana:

I don't have to do the work things anymore.

Diana:

And Carly's like, well, no, we're going to go create a perfect hell.

Diana:

It's cool.

Diana:

The party's not going to end.

Diana:

We're just going to move it, get out of the club circuit and start the stadium tour.

Diana:

I appreciated that.

Diana:

And then he's like, but I also talked to Sam, who's tracking us.

Diana:

Kind of gotta get moving.

Diana:

And Dean's like, you sold me the out, didn't you?

Diana:

And Carly's like, whatever, I'm over it.

Diana:

Let's.

Diana:

Come on.

Diana:

I've done this all for you as a favor and a gift.

Diana:

Take the night to decide what you want to do.

Diana:

Let's go.

Diana:

But.

Liz:

And then.

Liz:

So we cut to Sam driving and whatever.

Liz:

Whatever car he has stolen.

Liz:

The engine dies.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

I don't know what this car is.

Diana:

We have not seen this car before.

Liz:

Anyway, it's just a stolen car.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

And it.

Diana:

Yeah, it breaks down the side of the road in an.

Diana:

Like, they drive a lot of abandoned highways at night.

Liz:

Well, I mean, you know, they just drive a lot.

Liz:

You know, sometimes you just don't want to be on the highway.

Liz:

You want to take the back roads.

Liz:

They're prettier.

Liz:

They're more interesting.

Liz:

But another car pulls up behind him, and it's the wannabe Jeremy Renner from earlier.

Diana:

It is.

Diana:

He is a wannabe Jeremy Renner.

Diana:

It's our.

Diana:

It's our fax guy.

Liz:

I'm sorry.

Liz:

He is.

Diana:

Well.

Diana:

And he's like, oh, I can help.

Diana:

Because, you know, poor Sam's struggling to open the hood, even with his arm in a sling.

Diana:

And.

Diana:

Oh, bitching about.

Diana:

Let's.

Diana:

Let's talk about how modern cars are hard to work on with their computers.

Diana:

Like.

Diana:

Like they do.

Diana:

And then he's like, oh, there's your problem right there.

Diana:

And he points to, like, this switch box that has, like, a red light on it and two cables.

Diana:

Like, one.

Diana:

Two cables coming out of it.

Diana:

And Sam's like, what is that?

Diana:

Which also was a striking question.

Diana:

Since Sam knows a little bit about cars.

Diana:

We know he's helped Dean a lot.

Diana:

And guys like, that's your kill switch and here's the remote.

Liz:

And I was like, yeah, I want this kill switch.

Liz:

I love a kill switch.

Liz:

It's so great.

Liz:

They're so cool.

Diana:

Then he punches Sam in the face.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

He knocks him the fuck out.

Diana:

Knocks him the out.

Liz:

Which is again, you know, poor Sam.

Liz:

Like his brain like, you know, beyond like having being, you know, inhabited by an angel and getting cooked by trials.

Liz:

Like he's just gotten hit in the head so many times.

Diana:

Definitely at risk of some long standing concussion injuries.

Liz:

Oh, the hunter life just really just start forgetting things or go psychotic.

Liz:

This is why.

Liz:

Because he just got hit in the head a lot.

Diana:

Well, Dean is doing shots and we get a montage of him doing a ton of shots and singing karaoke.

Diana:

Not well, he including the song Imaginary Lover by the Atlanta Rhythm Section.

Diana:

And finally Anne Marie is just embarrassed for him and takes one of the shots away from him.

Diana:

And then he gets in a fight with the karaoke guy.

Diana:

Finally he wakes up in bed and she's trying to give him water, which he declines.

Diana:

When somebody, when somebody is trying to force you to drink water.

Diana:

If you're over a certain age, you.

Liz:

Need to drink water.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

They, they have your best interests at heart.

Liz:

No one's ever trying to hurt you with water.

Diana:

No.

Diana:

If they're forcing you, even if you don't need it, just drink the water.

Diana:

You need it.

Liz:

You need it.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So he's like, now he's suggesting that they run off together.

Diana:

And she's like, dude, we, we barely know each other.

Diana:

And then he's like, what?

Diana:

I defended your honor.

Diana:

And she's like, yeah, first.

Diana:

And you kept going.

Diana:

And whatever you have going on has nothing to do with my honor.

Diana:

I was like, damn.

Diana:

All right.

Diana:

Thank you for coming pointing that out.

Diana:

But she, she just thought he was a good guy playing bad.

Diana:

But now she doesn't know.

Diana:

Ouch.

Diana:

That that was bad though, because Dean is not going to let her get that little tiny.

Diana:

Just that little tiny nudge of a jab in.

Diana:

He didn't appreciate that.

Diana:

So he's gonna go real mean.

Liz:

I don't like it.

Liz:

And he basically calls her a skank.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

Which is my word.

Liz:

Bring skank back.

Liz:

And.

Liz:

But she's very self actualized.

Liz:

And when she walks out, she's just like, you know, I'm just gonna think I deserve that because I'M up.

Liz:

And I'm like, yes, girl, I hear you.

Liz:

I appreciate you knowing that you're gonna feel this way and blame yourself.

Diana:

It's so rude.

Diana:

I don't like it.

Diana:

It was unnecessarily rude.

Diana:

And she should have been madder.

Liz:

Probably that water in his face.

Diana:

She should have.

Diana:

Well, we've got three angels sitting around a campfire now.

Diana:

Cass and Hannah and Daniel.

Diana:

And he is.

Diana:

Doesn't understand why the other angels don't see what the wisdom that he sees on earth and where he's at.

Diana:

And.

Diana:

And Hannah just straight up does not at all.

Diana:

And we kind of get a hint that Cass does get it.

Diana:

Obviously he spent a lot of time.

Liz:

Free will thing for a while.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So he's definitely speaking to Cass's like thoughts and she is just 1 million not on board.

Diana:

And then she's like, well if you're gonna be free, that has to be decided by the.

Diana:

The angels as a collective.

Diana:

So sounds very not free.

Diana:

And then our Adina shows up, the other angel.

Diana:

And as she arrives, she's not.

Diana:

She's like, we're just not going back.

Diana:

She just.

Diana:

She comes in and she ramps the whole thing back up again.

Diana:

Escalates it just right back up, man.

Diana:

Takes it full escalation.

Diana:

We've got Castiel and Daniel trying to calm everybody down, but Hannah, Dina are going to get into it.

Diana:

There's Blades, we have a fight and then there are all like.

Diana:

Everybody's about to get real fucking stabby and Castiel has to stab Daniel to protect Hannah.

Diana:

It's that.

Diana:

And then Adina slices at Castiel and runs away.

Diana:

So she gets away after all this, Daniel's dead and she gets away after all that.

Diana:

Fucking lame.

Diana:

So anyway, our weird fax machine dude is dragging.

Liz:

His name is Cole, I think.

Liz:

I think they.

Liz:

I think they called him that in the somewhere May.

Liz:

They may have said his name.

Liz:

His name is Cole.

Diana:

But it's in the credits.

Diana:

I don't think we saw it.

Diana:

But that.

Diana:

Yeah, but.

Diana:

But it is in the credits.

Diana:

His name is Cole.

Diana:

He does drag Sam into a barn where he zip ties him to a chair.

Diana:

And Sam is like, who are you?

Diana:

And then he just starts telling a story about flipping over the handlebars on his brother's bike when his brother did a wheelie.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

And then he just starts telling him that Dean and him go way back.

Liz:

And then he's hunting Dean and that's not never a good idea.

Diana:

Not a hunter.

Diana:

But he's hunting Dean.

Liz:

Yeah.

Diana:

And Sam's like, yeah, you really shouldn't.

Diana:

He's kind of a monster.

Diana:

And the guy, Cole, and he tells.

Liz:

Him to go back to the army recruiting ad that spit him out.

Diana:

He does.

Diana:

And Cole's like, now Dean's prey and I'm a monster?

Liz:

Nope.

Liz:

You don't get it, Cole.

Liz:

Nope.

Diana:

No, he means kind of literally.

Diana:

Thanks.

Diana:

Thanks.

Diana:

That's not what he meant.

Liz:

Yeah.

Diana:

So Castiel and Hannah are driving again, though, and she's like, we have to report all this.

Diana:

We have to report it.

Diana:

And Cass is very upset.

Diana:

He's like, no, they just really want to be left to fuck alone.

Diana:

And now we have another angel dead.

Diana:

And she's like, well, without rules, there'd be chaos.

Diana:

That's how you got Naomi and Bartholomew and Metatron.

Liz:

Crazy people rise up in chaos.

Liz:

But.

Diana:

And he's like, yeah, but it's not all bad.

Diana:

Comes from chaos.

Diana:

That's how you get art, hope, love, and dreams.

Liz:

And those are, you know, fun things.

Liz:

Come from chaos.

Liz:

Chaos can be good.

Liz:

And.

Liz:

But Hannah's like, but those are human things.

Liz:

And it's so very weird, you know, especially because she was bleeding when she, you know, she's bleeding like her meat suits.

Liz:

Bleeding like a human.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

Right.

Liz:

And it's so very confusing.

Liz:

Like, now that they're back in heaven, do they have their wings back?

Liz:

Like, what's your level of angeldom?

Liz:

Like, I don't.

Liz:

Are you just, like.

Liz:

Because she's like, she would look damaged.

Liz:

Right?

Diana:

Right.

Diana:

And then.

Diana:

But that's her.

Diana:

Same suit that she was in.

Diana:

In heaven.

Diana:

I don't know.

Diana:

It's very confusing.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

But, you know, so we've got that.

Liz:

And then we cut to baby.

Diana:

And Dean is driving, and he answers a phone call from Sam's phone, and he feels all proud of himself.

Diana:

He's like, I left your tab open at the bar.

Diana:

And it's not Sam, because Sam is tied up.

Diana:

This is Cole.

Diana:

And he.

Diana:

He refers to himself as karma.

Diana:

And he's not dead yet.

Diana:

And Sam is not dead yet as long as Dean shows up.

Diana:

And Dean's like, well, I need proof of life.

Diana:

And this Sam.

Diana:

Sam won't.

Diana:

Won't acquiesce.

Diana:

He is going to save.

Diana:

Stay silent to prove a point, because Cole.

Diana:

All right, I.

Diana:

I feel you.

Diana:

But the guy.

Diana:

Poor Cole, just punches Sam in the face again.

Diana:

Poor, poor Sam's face to get a noise out of him.

Diana:

And he's like, there you go.

Diana:

There's your noise.

Diana:

I'm going to give you our meetup location.

Diana:

And Dean's like, G.

Diana:

No, no, no.

Diana:

I'm.

Diana:

I'm just not gonna do that.

Diana:

I'm not gonna meet up.

Diana:

I'm not doing a handoff.

Diana:

Just not doing it.

Diana:

I'm just gonna tell you that I will find you and kill you later on.

Diana:

Cool.

Diana:

Cool.

Diana:

And the guy's like, that's a cold comfort for your brother.

Diana:

Like, what the.

Diana:

And he's like, I told him to let me go.

Diana:

That's his problem now.

Diana:

I'm a man of my word, buddy.

Diana:

Click.

Liz:

Yep.

Liz:

And then he hangs up on him and call.

Liz:

Walks around like, not nearly knowing what to do.

Liz:

And then Dean just stands.

Liz:

Stares really hard at the road.

Diana:

Very hard at that rate.

Liz:

So hard at the road.

Liz:

Yeah, it's very interesting.

Diana:

So, yeah.

Diana:

All right.

Diana:

Before I get anything else, I'll do cast.

Diana:

Because I'm like, so much.

Diana:

Casting couch.

Speaker C:

It's the casting couch.

Speaker C:

Were they on that show that time with that guy?

Diana:

All right, so for our cast this week, we've got, of course, Cole Trenton, AKA Facts Guy that is played by Travis Aaron Wade.

Diana:

He is in multiple episodes.

Diana:

You've also seen may have seen him in episodes of ncis, Alias, Cold Case, the Clothes Closer, Criminal Minds, CSI Rizzoli and Isles.

Diana:

And he was a soldier in War of the Worlds.

Diana:

Anne Marie, our waitress, was played by Emily Fonda.

Diana:

She's been episodes of Witches of East End.

Diana:

She was a sexy girl in Big Eyes and martina in 50 shades of gray.

Diana:

Adina was played our.

Diana:

Our angel was played by Judd Taylor.

Diana:

She's in a couple episodes of Supernatural, been episodes of Smallville, Dawson's Creek, CSI Miami, Ghost Whisperer, Two and a Half Men, Mad Men, the Mentalist, CSI Las Vegas, and was Stephanie in My Five Wives, a Rodney Dangerfield film.

Diana:

Daniel, our other angel was played by Giacomo Besato.

Diana:

Yeah, and I definitely.

Diana:

I recognized him for sure.

Diana:

He's been episodes of Fringe, Arrow, Wayward Pines a few times.

Diana:

X Files, Once Upon a Time Travelers.

Diana:

He was a trick or treater in Scary Movie, the morose kid in Freddy Got Fingered, a hip hop wannabe in the movie RV With Robin Williams.

Diana:

Russ in Izombie, which was a reoccurring character, regular character.

Diana:

Connor and Nancy Drew a regular character and is current has most recently been Jerome in the Good Doctor, which is a.

Diana:

A series on currently and a couple dozen episodes of that.

Diana:

So dar our angel from our.

Diana:

Our demon from the beginning.

Diana:

Excuse me.

Diana:

also has been in episodes of:

Diana:

They Call him a scarred man.

Diana:

The one with the big eyebrows and the short beard.

Liz:

Eyebrows was.

Liz:

Big Eyebrow Demon was much more descriptive than scarred Man.

Diana:

I'm saying that's Nigel Avanas.

Diana:

And he's been episodes of Smallville, Fringe, Almost Human Arrow a few times, Prison Break, Batwoman, and was a merc in Chronicles of Riddick.

Diana:

Lastly, I must reference our.

Diana:

Our Mickey.

Diana:

Our at from.

Diana:

From the Gas and Sip was played by Zachary Golka.

Diana:

He's been episodes of Frequency Ghost, Ghost wars multiple times, and Flash.

Diana:

Very cool.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

So holy shit.

Diana:

This episode went from.

Diana:

It's like chaos.

Diana:

It's like chaos.

Diana:

Comedy and philosophy, right?

Diana:

I don't know.

Diana:

Yeah, I mean, the ending was something.

Diana:

And it made me ask a lot of questions that I don't know that I'm hopeful we'll get answers to in future episodes.

Liz:

Yeah, I mean, no, they're just not going to answer your questions at all.

Liz:

This is.

Liz:

You know, they're just supernatural.

Liz:

Supernatural.

Liz:

That's their whole.

Liz:

That's what they're gonna play this whole new thing this season where they just like, don't tell you because I'm like.

Diana:

Well, does, like, Dean have, like, some, like, demon abilities where he can, like, just tell where this is?

Diana:

Like, doesn't something else come from it other than just having black eyes and being angry all the time?

Liz:

You would hope, right?

Liz:

You would think.

Liz:

But I don't know, like, what happens when you're this kind of demon.

Diana:

Right.

Liz:

And different kinds of demons can do different things.

Diana:

Well, because he already knows he has kind of super strength from the Mark, so we kind of know that already anyways, so.

Diana:

Yeah, it's crazy.

Diana:

And who the is Cole?

Diana:

What the.

Liz:

Yeah, Cole.

Liz:

Yeah.

Diana:

So I don't know, whatever it is, his chick did not seem stoked that he had found Dean.

Diana:

Or was she really happy and very.

Diana:

Because she was mad about Dean?

Diana:

I don't know.

Diana:

That was hard to read.

Diana:

But I got the impression that she was not thrilled that he was going out on this mission.

Diana:

So.

Diana:

Yeah, it's a.

Diana:

It was a.

Diana:

It was a something.

Diana:

This bleed back in.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

And what's.

Liz:

You know, what will happen with Cass and Hannah, you know, on their buddy road trip.

Diana:

She's such a fuddy duddy.

Liz:

She is.

Liz:

She's an angel with an angel stick up her ass.

Liz:

For sure.

Liz:

The angel lays firmly lodged up there.

Diana:

But.

Liz:

But she's also just a delightful actress.

Diana:

She is.

Liz:

So it's really hard just to be like.

Liz:

You know, it's like she just seems like she's very much got the manic pixie, dream girl kind of energy going on.

Diana:

Yeah, I can see that.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

Kind of adorably awkward.

Diana:

Yeah.

Diana:

No, I don't dislike it.

Diana:

It's just funny.

Diana:

I'm just like, put the knife down and let this dude tell you about how pretty the sunset is.

Liz:

Yeah, I.

Liz:

I just, you know, I don't.

Liz:

I don't.

Liz:

I don't appreciate people who tend to, like, try and drag people away from, like, what they just want to do.

Liz:

Like, they just.

Liz:

Just leave me the alone and mind your own goddamn business and go away, Hannah.

Liz:

Like, you don't mean to.

Liz:

We don't need an angel blade here.

Liz:

Mind your own business.

Diana:

And.

Diana:

And then I kind of like, I get that they're saying, like, the directive of the angels is further.

Diana:

That's what their job is because they're created for.

Diana:

And then.

Diana:

And then.

Diana:

And I'm sure there's like.

Diana:

I get it doesn't help the story, but in my head, I'm like, what does it matter?

Diana:

Is like, is what the collectives not getting their job done because these two want to camp and live off grid.

Diana:

Like, does anybody really care?

Diana:

I don't know.

Liz:

Yeah.

Liz:

I mean, but they're also.

Liz:

Angels are really into punishing people or punishing angels, like, and other people.

Liz:

It's kind of like an angel thing, right?

Liz:

I mean, we had Gadriel that was in prison for all, but they're just really into punishing.

Diana:

They are just, you know, like, angels are dicks.

Liz:

Angels, they're still dicks.

Diana:

Yeah.

Liz:

Dickless sticks.

Liz:

All right.

Liz:

I think on that note, I think it will end and you know much Crowley stole it.

Liz:

Cheers, jerk.

Diana:

Cheers, kids.
