Speaker B:

If you know what liquid meth is, you might also learn that it's a misdemeanor in West Virginia to marry your father.

Speaker B:

Let's do this,.

Speaker A:

Sam.

Speaker B:

Boop, boop.

Speaker A:

Hello.

Speaker A:

Welcome to Devil's Trap podcast.

Speaker B:

This is not a recording of the emergency broadcasting.

Speaker B:

Liz is just booping her nose.

Speaker B:

Hi, I'm Liz.

Speaker A:

I'm Diana.

Speaker B:

I'm not moving my own nose.

Speaker B:

I'm booping the cat's nose, just to be clear.

Speaker A:

Yeah, and not my nose either, because I'm not in the same as you.

Speaker B:

It's hard to boop.

Speaker B:

Somebody's on zoom.

Speaker B:

Boop.

Speaker A:

Hi.

Speaker B:

Hello.

Speaker A:

How are you?

Speaker B:

I am live well, have returned from my travels, and now I have to face the work week that comes after the travels.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Good times.

Speaker B:

Good times.

Speaker A:

How are you doing?

Speaker A:

I'm good.

Speaker A:

We've been redoing some things in our home and are in the final stretch in detail mode now, which is very nice, but I. I spent a lot of time cleaning this weekend, which, I mean, sounds bratty, but, like, I had to, like, deep clean the house.

Speaker A:

And I'm just gonna say that getting up and down off of the floor or crawling around on the floor when you're over 40 is.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker B:

So I should pay somebody to do.

Speaker B:

Just pay somebody to do that.

Speaker A:

Well, this was pretty.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

But anyway, so no, but we did.

Speaker A:

I'm pretty excited.

Speaker A:

I'm getting.

Speaker A:

We're getting summer ready over here, and I'm ready for pool time and pool season, but there we go.

Speaker B:

No pool time.

Speaker B:

But not sweating time.

Speaker B:

Sweated once this weekend.

Speaker B:

Didn't like it.

Speaker A:

I'm so ready for summer.

Speaker A:

I don't care.

Speaker B:

I know you are, but.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Are you having a beverage this evening?

Speaker B:

I am just drinking a thirsty Go.

Speaker B:

And the reason is I really don't want to drink because I'm very tired and I've drank a lot this past few days, but I'm out of sparkling water and I wanted carbonation, so I was like, yep, I'm just going to drink a beer because that.

Speaker A:

My wine almost came out of my nose on that.

Speaker A:

Yeah, it's sparkly water with hops or something.

Speaker A:

Sure.

Speaker B:

Yeast.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Technically.

Speaker B:

Yeah, you're not wrong.

Speaker B:

It's still sparkling water.

Speaker B:

It's just flavored.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Not quite a Lacroix over there.

Speaker A:

But, you know, sure, why not?

Speaker A:

We just got our wine club shipment from Coleman, so that's what I opened tonight.

Speaker A:

That tempranillo from Coleman.

Speaker A:

And sad I missed the pickup again.

Speaker A:

But I.

Speaker A:

Someday I'll actually shut up.

Speaker B:

But, yeah, no, I keep going with, like, mine that's out there.

Speaker B:

I'm like, I'll go pick it up.

Speaker B:

And then they're like, you missed it.

Speaker B:

We're shipping it.

Speaker B:

I'm like, yeah, I know.

Speaker B:

Just send it.

Speaker B:

Well, cool.

Speaker A:

Well, yeah, not too much going on.

Speaker A:

Well, you've had a big trip, but you're recovering still, so.

Speaker B:

I had a big trip.

Speaker B:

Baltimore is exciting.

Speaker B:

I didn't get murdered.

Speaker B:

I didn't see anybody get murdered, so.

Speaker A:

And you didn't.

Speaker A:

But you also didn't see John Waters, so.

Speaker B:

I did not see John Waters or Mr. Trash Wheel, but I did get Mr. Trash Wheels ice cream.

Speaker B:

And I got Mr. Trash Will pens and a fanny pack because it was Mr. Trash Will's birthday.

Speaker B:

If you don't know who Mr. Trash Will is, look it up.

Speaker B:

There we go.

Speaker B:

All right.

Speaker B:

All right, so we're just gonna jump into this because.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Season four, episode 11, family remains, remains.

Speaker B:

All right, so this is season four, episode 11.

Speaker B:

,:

Speaker B:

It was directed by our favorite suit wearing Phil Scruccia, and written by Jeremy Carver.

Speaker B:

And there's just gonna be some huge sugar warnings here because there's a lot of incest murder ahead.

Speaker B:

And that may be about the show or maybe about something else that's coming up.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

I'm just saying that there's gonna be some gross things that happen in this episode.

Speaker B:

So small.

Speaker B:

Children, why are you listening to the show?

Speaker B:

Get away from our.

Speaker B:

You should not be listening.

Speaker B:

Children.

Speaker A:

I'm gonna go ahead and kick off with dislike this episode, but really, I'm just saying.

Speaker A:

I'm sure people are shocked by this information, but I feel like if you liked this episode, there's something fucking wrong with you.

Speaker A:

So, yes.

Speaker A:

Ta da.

Speaker A:

That's me judging.

Speaker A:

I'm judging all of you that enjoyed this episode.

Speaker A:

Boom.

Speaker B:

Why would you enjoy this?

Speaker B:

Who would enjoy this?

Speaker A:

What's the point of the show?

Speaker A:

Is the show point in entertainment?

Speaker A:

I mean, it's supposed to entertain you.

Speaker A:

I'm sure they were trying to make a point, but also it was upsetting and I was not happy.

Speaker B:

It was so entertaining, though.

Speaker B:

It was just horrifying and terrifying.

Speaker B:

And there's some reasons for that.

Speaker B:

I know that has to do, like the basically flipping off the network and wanting to make things really bad.

Speaker B:

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Speaker B:

But anyways, yeah, gross, gross episode.

Speaker B:

But gives us a lot of gross things to talk about.

Speaker B:

And we're just.

Speaker B:

And just some hillbillies.

Speaker B:

So we're start off with a hillbilly.

Speaker B:

I don't know, maybe he's not.

Speaker B:

I just looked at him assumed.

Speaker B:

But yeah, he's hillbilly.

Speaker A:

Old country, old dude and old country house.

Speaker B:

Yep, yep, yep.

Speaker B:

And he's just drinking a beer in his dad chair.

Speaker B:

That is a daddest of chairs.

Speaker A:

Such a cliche dad chair.

Speaker A:

And.

Speaker A:

And there's.

Speaker A:

We do get like a close up of family photos.

Speaker A:

So I think that now as you watch.

Speaker A:

I noted that.

Speaker A:

But as you watch an episode, you see like, oh, there's a reason why there is his family pictures there.

Speaker A:

So the power goes out.

Speaker A:

And so he walks through the door.

Speaker B:

You're hearing Mike bump, the cat is tweaking.

Speaker B:

Stop tweaking on the mic.

Speaker B:

No tweak in her chair.

Speaker B:

This is what happens when I'm gone for four days.

Speaker B:

I'm not allowed to say go within with like farther than six inches away.

Speaker B:

All right, miss thing.

Speaker B:

All right, so the power is out.

Speaker A:

He goes to leave to go check why the power's out.

Speaker A:

But.

Speaker A:

And the door that he goes to leave, the room is locked.

Speaker A:

But then the door behind him, like to a closet, starts to open slowly.

Speaker A:

And I'm already upset because I'm like, oh, this is gonna be fucking scary.

Speaker A:

This is the kind of shit that freaks Diana out.

Speaker A:

And there's some spirity, deathly looking chick coming out of the doorway.

Speaker A:

And he says, you stay away from me.

Speaker A:

And then there's a big blood splatter, lots of blood on the home sweet home crochet.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Well, if you have that in your house, you're kind of asking for that.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So that's.

Speaker A:

We start off with this lovely murder by this creepy ghost looking chick.

Speaker B:

Casual little scene.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So we cut to a baby with Sam sleeping.

Speaker A:

And Dean is looking for the next job.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And also Sam sleeping in the backseat.

Speaker B:

And one.

Speaker B:

His brother just had sex back there.

Speaker A:

So I hope he cleaned it.

Speaker B:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker B:

No, I mean that bishop.

Speaker B:

Yeah, now.

Speaker B:

And some Lysol and, you know, I don't know, lots and lots of antibacterial wipes and all sorts of things.

Speaker A:

But.

Speaker B:

Yeah, but Sam's like very, very tall.

Speaker B:

Like, I understand the Impala is large.

Speaker A:

Not that large.

Speaker B:

Is not large enough for that man to comfortably be sleeping in the backseat.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

So he wakes up and he's like, are you looking for another job?

Speaker A:

We just finished a job like two hours ago.

Speaker A:

And he's like, yep, got to keep moving.

Speaker A:

Basically it's like Cedar Rapids, Tulsa or Chai Town.

Speaker A:

And he's like, look, we've doing this nonstop for months.

Speaker A:

And so Dean's like, Sam calls him out basically that he's working jobs to run from what Dean confessed to Sam at the end of the last episode.

Speaker B:

See, so Dean took my advice and he shoved all those feelings way back down where they belong.

Speaker B:

Ran away from that, and he ran away from them and buried himself in work.

Speaker B:

That seems completely appropriate.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

But Dean's just like, I'm just going to change the subject.

Speaker A:

Yeah, we're going to go to.

Speaker A:

Was it Sutton, Nebraska?

Speaker B:

Stratton, Nebraska.

Speaker A:

Sorry?

Speaker A:

Stratton, Nebraska.

Speaker A:

Where a man was hacked to death inside a locked house.

Speaker B:

A locked room inside a locked house.

Speaker A:

And Sam's like, oh, that sounds like a ghost.

Speaker B:

So I guess we're going to Nebraska.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Does Nebraska have a song?

Speaker B:

I was like, come look at our corn, Nebraska.

Speaker B:

So that we are.

Speaker B:

We go off to Nebraska and our road trip takes us to a sign that's a farm and it's for sale.

Speaker A:

Mm.

Speaker A:

But they couldn't see that the house was sold because the sold sign fell into the overgrown grass.

Speaker B:

He did.

Speaker B:

He did.

Speaker B:

And they're like, well, we missed that.

Speaker B:

Well, that's cool.

Speaker B:

Let's just go break into this house.

Speaker B:

You know, even this is fine.

Speaker B:

Like there can't be a realtor, anybody here, Whatever.

Speaker B:

It's cool.

Speaker B:

So we're just gonna break into this house and go inside.

Speaker B:

And it's clearly vacant.

Speaker A:

And I like the.

Speaker A:

There's a line of three.

Speaker A:

Three beds, two baths.

Speaker A:

And a homicide place is gonna sell like hotcakes.

Speaker A:

I mean, actually if we were talking about today's real estate market, it would.

Speaker A:

It would go over Ask fucker.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Shit.

Speaker B:

In Austin, the obituaries are the market now.

Speaker B:

Like that is all.

Speaker B:

Like we were doing people.

Speaker B:

Oh, he died.

Speaker B:

The neighborhood busy in.

Speaker A:

I love that.

Speaker A:

Like both of us are like that fucking housing market right now.

Speaker A:

That doesn't matter.

Speaker A:

Yeah, it's bonkers.

Speaker B:

Yeah, we spent a lot of time this weekend talking about that and.

Speaker B:

Yeah, well, it's about to fall.

Speaker B:

It's fine.

Speaker B:

So we go into our spacious but a much needed of an update kitchen.

Speaker B:

And I'm looking at this just as an HDTV person would.

Speaker A:

Exactly.

Speaker A:

Well, you would definitely reconfigure the cabinetry to maximize storage.

Speaker A:

And anyways, and Dean notices there's this weird piece of a panel on the wall.

Speaker A:

And Sam's like, oh, yeah, it's a dumb waiter.

Speaker A:

So, okay.

Speaker A:

And they're walking around the EMF readers going bonkers, but there's massive power lines very nearby.

Speaker A:

So they're like, oh, well.

Speaker B:

Which is like, aren't there power lines everywhere?

Speaker B:

Like, so art look.

Speaker B:

Yeah, there's a reason emf.

Speaker B:

Anyways, okay, so Sam's just like, well, I'm just gonna open this rando closet door.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And there's a fucking doll head with its hair cut off the place down.

Speaker B:

Like, as soon as you see that, you just take a match and you just go poof.

Speaker B:

We are done.

Speaker B:

Because there's no situation is a single doll head that has had its place like that perfectly.

Speaker A:

Whereas there's nothing else in this house.

Speaker B:

And it's just staring at you and.

Speaker B:

Well, no.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So burn it all down.

Speaker B:

But we do learn from this exchange that the former owner was named Bill Gibson.

Speaker B:

I guess that really doesn't matter.

Speaker B:

But now I at least know his name is Bill.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And as Dean says, that's super disturbing.

Speaker A:

You are correct.

Speaker A:

It is, yes.

Speaker B:

So correct.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

But as they're looking around, they hear some cars pulling up.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

And there's an Escalade with a moving truck pulling up the drive.

Speaker A:

So guess what?

Speaker A:

The new owners have arrived.

Speaker B:

They have.

Speaker B:

And boy, oh, boy, are they an all American family.

Speaker B:

We've got a wife in a vest, a young boy, a dog, teenage girl, a dad with a stick up its ass.

Speaker B:

And of course, Uncle Ted.

Speaker A:

And of course Uncle Ted with his shaggy hair.

Speaker A:

And the teenage girl makes a joke about cell phone reception because it's gonna ruin her life.

Speaker B:

Well, also, I mean, yeah, you need cell phone reception.

Speaker B:

What the.

Speaker B:

I mean, granted, this was:

Speaker B:

It probably wasn't that big of a deal then, but yeah, this is where the.

Speaker B:

The rural divine started.

Speaker B:

And so the guys are just seen coming down the stairs because how.

Speaker B:

What are we.

Speaker A:

Whoops.

Speaker B:

We're in the house.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

What do we do?

Speaker B:

Who are we?

Speaker A:

Apparently, code enforcement.

Speaker A:

Drives an Impala.

Speaker A:

Just.

Speaker B:

Well, I mean, that's a county Code enforcement that's in that town.

Speaker B:

Is probably true.

Speaker A:

Bob.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Yeah, it's just Bob.

Speaker B:

And so I have a whole lot of things.

Speaker B:

Problems with this situation, but Sam's just like, oh, yeah, you've got asbestos in your walls and a gas leak.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And it's a health risk, so you need to go stay at a fucking hotel and a motel.

Speaker A:

And they're like, they're very upset because apparently in this cross country trip to move to this place, they've stayed in several and they are not excited about doing it again.

Speaker A:

And they're like, well, what if we don't?

Speaker A:

And they're like, fine in jail.

Speaker B:

Can county enforcement do that?

Speaker A:

Code enforcement, if they, if they got a health like, trespass warning on you?

Speaker A:

I guess.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

Yeah, I feel like this goes upon, you know, beyond their abilities.

Speaker B:

But anyways, the girl also said that she hopes that the motel does not have hooker sheets.

Speaker B:

And I'm just like, what are hooker sheets?

Speaker B:

I mean, are they.

Speaker A:

Is it with.

Speaker A:

They just like shitty, cheap, like motel sheets or assuming there's like stains on the sheets.

Speaker B:

Are there stains or do they have, like, are they satin or like, what makes a sheet a hooker sheet?

Speaker A:

Please tell me a question.

Speaker B:

Slide into my DMs, let me know what hooker sheets are.

Speaker A:

All right, tell me about your hooker sheets.

Speaker B:

Tell me about.

Speaker B:

Okay, no, don't tell me about your hooker sheets.

Speaker B:

Stay out of my DMs.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker B:

So I guess the family decides to go and now they have changed the brother.

Speaker A:

Yeah, now the brother.

Speaker A:

No, no, not anymore.

Speaker A:

But they're in suits now and they're asking this woman about finding Mr. Gibson's body.

Speaker A:

And apparently, basically, she was his housekeeper for the last few years.

Speaker A:

And so they asked her, where was he when you found him?

Speaker B:

I like, this woman.

Speaker A:

Everywhere.

Speaker B:

Everywhere.

Speaker B:

He was everywhere.

Speaker A:

He was everywhere.

Speaker A:

Oh, shit.

Speaker A:

He got hacked up real good.

Speaker A:

So she does give a little bit of backstory though, on, on Bill Gibson.

Speaker A:

His wife died in childbirth.

Speaker A:

And then the daughter that, that she had had hung herself 20 years later.

Speaker A:

And.

Speaker A:

Yeah, but she also randomly has like some like, really good family photos.

Speaker B:

She has a couple of photos of them.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And when Dean's also just like, well, why did she.

Speaker B:

Which one asked?

Speaker B:

But they asked her, like, why the daughter kill herself.

Speaker B:

Like, why would.

Speaker A:

Well, I mean, I guess sometimes if there was.

Speaker A:

I mean, people like.

Speaker B:

Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker B:

She was sad, like she didn't want to live anymore.

Speaker B:

That's why she killed herself.

Speaker B:

What the fuck, man?

Speaker A:

You know, there have been trauma that they were, you know, maybe some specific stuff, but yeah, so.

Speaker A:

And so they asked her like, hey, did you ever notice any weird things like with the power or putting something down and not being where you left it?

Speaker A:

And she's like, no.

Speaker A:

She's like.

Speaker A:

But now you mentioned it, there was a rustling kind of in the walls and they're like like rats.

Speaker A:

And she's like, but yeah, so there was like noises in the walls.

Speaker B:

Yeah, but he's kind of like, oh, yeah, it must have been some big rats.

Speaker B:

She's like, I never saw what.

Speaker B:

So it's like, oh, they're like rats.

Speaker B:

But it was like, why the fuck are you in that house?

Speaker B:

Out.

Speaker B:

Get out.

Speaker B:

Burn that shit to the ground.

Speaker B:

All right, so then one more piece of information that we need because ghostiness, we want to burn them, right?

Speaker A:

They've already been burned.

Speaker A:

They were cremated.

Speaker A:

Both the wife and the daughter were both cremated.

Speaker A:

So we cut back to our creepy house that should have been burned to the ground and raised already.

Speaker A:

But Uncle Ted has looked around and said that the code enforcement guys, our brothers were.

Speaker A:

It was all bullshit.

Speaker A:

There's no asbestos and gas and he works in construction.

Speaker A:

And so there's no way those guys work for the county.

Speaker B:

This house, you know, after they start ripping it apart, it has asbestos in it.

Speaker A:

Oh, fuck.

Speaker B:

Like, I'm just looking.

Speaker B:

Fuck you.

Speaker A:

But the thing about asbestos is that, like, it doesn't matter if it's not disturbed.

Speaker A:

It's only like, if you're gonna go tear a wall out that it becomes a problem.

Speaker B:

Yeah, but still, I mean, maybe they found it somewhere else, you know, just like, you can't just go walk around a house and be like, no asbestos.

Speaker A:

Now he could probably be like, yeah, there's not a fucking gas leak.

Speaker A:

Because you can smell a gas leak typically.

Speaker A:

Or there's tests for that.

Speaker A:

But yeah, I think, no, you'd have to tear a wall out to fill it.

Speaker B:

I think Ted's full of shit anyway, so there was like, well, I don't know who these strange men were.

Speaker B:

Guess I'm not going to call the sheriffs.

Speaker B:

Like, what?

Speaker B:

Like, did you not call code enforcement before?

Speaker B:

Like, what?

Speaker B:

I'm so confused.

Speaker B:

Like, this whole family is just weird.

Speaker A:

I feel like they're also in such a, like, non confrontational, like they're just trying to get to like, you get the vibe they're like trying to get away from something and there's like this apprehension and nervousness about moving to this house anyway.

Speaker A:

So I think they're just like, fuck it, we just need to move in.

Speaker A:

And I'm sure I know a cross country road trip with the famous.

Speaker A:

And I'm tight with my family and I love them very much.

Speaker A:

It's fucking stressful moving in on top of that.

Speaker A:

Fuck you.

Speaker A:

Get me in this house.

Speaker A:

Like, I don't care.

Speaker A:

I will leave the gas.

Speaker A:

Leave the gas leak as it is.

Speaker A:

I don't fucking give a shit.

Speaker A:

Maybe I'll sleep really well tonight.

Speaker A:

Like, kidding.

Speaker A:

Don't do that.

Speaker A:

But anyways.

Speaker B:

And then.

Speaker A:

So as they're going in, though, our teen girl sees a face up in the window.

Speaker B:

Oh, no.

Speaker B:

But my mom's like, what are you seeing?

Speaker B:

Oh, no.

Speaker B:

Girl in the window.

Speaker B:

We got positive attitude, Mom.

Speaker B:

Like, it's gotta be great.

Speaker B:

Come on, Katie.

Speaker B:

Things are gonna change.

Speaker B:

But.

Speaker B:

So we're getting.

Speaker B:

Already starting to get this idea that something is not normal with this family.

Speaker B:

Like something has happened.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Everything's gonna get better from here.

Speaker A:

They're here for a reason.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So it's nighttime now in the house.

Speaker A:

And Danny, the young boy, I guess, like, what?

Speaker B:

Probably like, I'm terrible judging that.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

He could be 19 or 7, whatever.

Speaker B:

So, yeah, he's playing a Game Boy or something in his room.

Speaker B:

And of course.

Speaker A:

Is that what the kids play now?

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

It's:

Speaker B:

It wouldn't have been to switch.

Speaker B:

Probably.

Speaker B:

It was Game Boy.

Speaker B:

Maybe this there was.

Speaker B:

It was Sega.

Speaker B:

Game Boy.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

I'm not a nerd.

Speaker A:

Different kind of nerd.

Speaker A:

A different kind of nerd.

Speaker A:

You couldn't even say it with straight face.

Speaker A:

He's supposed to be unpacking and he's not.

Speaker A:

He's playing fucking video games like a little shit.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker B:

And he lies to his mom.

Speaker B:

He get punished for lying.

Speaker A:

But while he's sitting there, the closet door slowly opens and a baseball rolls out to him.

Speaker A:

And I'm like, son of a bitch.

Speaker A:

I'm already getting freaked out.

Speaker A:

I'm just telling you at this point, I think this was the point that Dave had already gotten back with Frosties.

Speaker A:

And so I'm trying to write notes with one hand.

Speaker A:

I've got my notepad in my lap.

Speaker A:

Got my Frosty in my other hand.

Speaker A:

And I'm trying to cover my eyes at the same time.

Speaker A:

So let me paint that pict picture for you.

Speaker A:

Because, you know, and I think that I've seen some of our old photos, guys.

Speaker A:

I. I'm a fucking wuss.

Speaker A:

And I like to cover my eyes when things scare me.

Speaker A:

And I know that's juvenile and useless.

Speaker A:

I'm going to watch what happens.

Speaker A:

I'm not going to cover the point where I can't see at all.

Speaker A:

I'm just going to cover for a second so it doesn't scare me real bad.

Speaker A:

And I can peek through.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And that's helpful.

Speaker B:

It protects you.

Speaker A:

Sure.

Speaker A:

But that's what I was doing.

Speaker A:

With my frost.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So what the fuck is wrong with Danny?

Speaker B:

Because Danny is just like, oh, there's this ball.

Speaker B:

Hello.

Speaker B:

It's okay.

Speaker A:

I'm Danny.

Speaker A:

And rolls the ball back.

Speaker B:

If something.

Speaker B:

I don't care what child this was.

Speaker B:

Any child.

Speaker B:

Something comes out of the closet, be it.

Speaker B:

Whatever.

Speaker B:

They're not going to be okay with it.

Speaker B:

I would not be okay with it.

Speaker B:

Nothing is wrong with fucking Danny.

Speaker B:

Because.

Speaker B:

No, this is not good behavior.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

And so he rolls the ball back and then stands up and something roll.

Speaker A:

And then something throws the ball to him.

Speaker A:

So now it's not just like the ball rolled because the house is uneven, has bad foundation.

Speaker A:

No, no, it threw it back to him.

Speaker B:

He's playing catch with something.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So we cut back to the kitchen.

Speaker A:

That needs a gut job, basically.

Speaker A:

I mean, we all know it needs.

Speaker B:

A guy job, but they have filled it with furniture very quickly.

Speaker A:

Very quickly, very quickly.

Speaker B:

This house is furnished now.

Speaker B:

And I'm like, wow.

Speaker A:

Yeah, maybe Uncle Ted is a badass.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Miriam, Ted has his reasons.

Speaker B:

They brought.

Speaker B:

They brought him for him.

Speaker B:

And not like paid movers for a reason.

Speaker B:

And Brian and Susan are talking about their vegetable garden.

Speaker B:

Well, Susan is talking about her vegetable garden.

Speaker B:

Well, Brian doesn't.

Speaker B:

Or whatever.

Speaker B:

Brian does the thing that most husbands or boyfriends do and pretends to be listening to her while he's actually doing something else.

Speaker B:

And that's fine.

Speaker B:

No judgment there.

Speaker B:

Understand?

Speaker B:

We do this goes back and forth in relationships.

Speaker A:

It does.

Speaker B:

And also, there's a smell.

Speaker B:

And that would also distract me.

Speaker B:

Like, I'd be like, I must find that smell.

Speaker B:

What is that smell?

Speaker A:

He said something smells really bad.

Speaker A:

Like a raccoon died in the walls or something.

Speaker B:

Or trash panda.

Speaker A:

That's very sad.

Speaker A:

And so she's.

Speaker A:

She kind of pauses when she's, you know, decides to not berate him for not listening to her.

Speaker A:

Is like, what are we doing on a farm?

Speaker A:

He's like, no, it's going to be different.

Speaker A:

We're going to be happy.

Speaker A:

And she's like, you know, I can't put the kids through another year like last year.

Speaker A:

So we now.

Speaker A:

We definitely solidified that something has happened to this family.

Speaker A:

The brothers pull up and they see the family's there, and they're pissed because, like, son of a bitch.

Speaker A:

We thought we had him kicked out to a motel, at least for the night, so we could figure out what the fuck's going on with the ghosts in this house.

Speaker A:

But they didn't.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker B:

And they're like, what the fuck do we do?

Speaker B:

And we get a really nice.

Speaker B:

And Sam's like, well, we can tell them the truth.

Speaker B:

And he's like, really?

Speaker B:

And he's like, no, no, never.

Speaker B:

Well, it's also interesting, like, which families, like, they pick, like, this family can handle us telling them the ins and outs.

Speaker B:

They're just like, look at Brian and Susan.

Speaker B:

And they're like, no, no, they can't.

Speaker B:

They.

Speaker B:

They would not take this well.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And then Uncle Ted find.

Speaker A:

Calls them into the living room and has found someone wrote go really large in crayon, red crayon on the wall.

Speaker A:

So what do they assume?

Speaker A:

That Danny did it.

Speaker A:

So poor little shit bag Danny, who's playing video games he's supposed to be unpacking, gets yelled at and called downstairs.

Speaker A:

And he.

Speaker A:

But he insists that he didn't do it and says some creepy fucking shit.

Speaker B:

He does.

Speaker B:

He does.

Speaker B:

And he's just like, the girl on the wall did it.

Speaker A:

Because that's not terrifying.

Speaker B:

And if they don't leave, she's going to get really mad.

Speaker B:

It was like, oh, he's acting up.

Speaker B:

You know, that's this poor child.

Speaker B:

He's.

Speaker B:

Something has happened and this is.

Speaker B:

His teacher said he was going to act up.

Speaker B:

And then Danny, of course, gets the righteous indignation that only a child who has been accused of lying and is not lying can get.

Speaker B:

Because I remember that feeling.

Speaker B:

And I probably still get that as an adult just being like, no, I'm the girl and the wall.

Speaker B:

And they're like, okay, no, it's.

Speaker B:

Why won't you just tell us the truth?

Speaker B:

He's like, the girl in the wall.

Speaker A:

Okay.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

As they send him to his room, as he's going, he says, if Andy were here, he'd believe me.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And next time I've ever get pulled over and it's going to be like, the girl in the wall did it.

Speaker B:

And then just see what they did.

Speaker A:

This is the story about how Liz got a psych hold.

Speaker A:

Anyways, not funny.

Speaker A:

So we cut to our teenage girl Kate, in her room, laying in bed, talking to her dog, who is.

Speaker A:

How much she hates it there.

Speaker A:

And you hear licking noises and she's talking about who.

Speaker A:

Gross, Buster, you're so nasty.

Speaker A:

While she's getting her hand licked by the dog.

Speaker A:

But then the closet door opens and Buster walks out.

Speaker A:

So it wasn't the dog licking her hand.

Speaker B:

And this is an urban legend.

Speaker B:

Like that one itself.

Speaker B:

That one.

Speaker B:

And it's just like people like, the girl wakes up and there's the dog.

Speaker B:

Dog is dead.

Speaker B:

And then it's like, the people can lick.

Speaker B:

People can lick to you.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Which is also probably foreshadowing something that made me very angry.

Speaker B:

But, yeah, Kate does the appropriate thing.

Speaker B:

Screams and yes, I think the dog was in the hall, not the closet.

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

The dog was in the hall because the closet doors would slam.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker A:

With whatever.

Speaker A:

We don't see what was licking her hand, really, in this scene, we just see the door slam, the closet door slam quickly behind something that was licking her hand.

Speaker A:

So she's downstairs talking about Casper the pervy ghost is her life.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

No one wants to be molested by Casper the pervy ghost, which I do feel like that was a missed lore opportunity there.

Speaker B:

I could have talked about some sex ghosts, but maybe we'll get to go back to that in a future episode.

Speaker B:

I'm kind of gonna.

Speaker B:

But, Dani.

Speaker A:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker A:

I'm glad you didn't go with sex ghosts in this episode, because we just don't need anything else to make it even weirder and grosser.

Speaker A:

You think?

Speaker B:

I'm not going to make it weirder and grosser.

Speaker A:

God damn it.

Speaker A:

So Danny was like, yeah, it was the girl.

Speaker A:

Now that she's been screaming and she's trying to tell her parents what's happening in the living room.

Speaker A:

Everybody's there.

Speaker A:

Danny's like, I told you, it's a fucking girl on the walls.

Speaker A:

That's just me.

Speaker B:

But I love that this is just like, that's not helping, Danny.

Speaker B:

Because the sister has, like, the best reaction.

Speaker B:

She's just like, who?

Speaker B:

And she's like, what the fuck?

Speaker B:

There's a girl in the walls.

Speaker B:

Like, I just got licked by something, and there is a girl in the wall.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So we think she gets interrupted, though, by some loud knocks.

Speaker B:

And Sam and Dean are here to.

Speaker A:

Save the day because they heard screams.

Speaker B:

Then we get a feeling, did you touch my daughter?

Speaker B:

And Dean's just like, no.

Speaker B:

No.

Speaker A:

Like, what the fuck?

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And it's.

Speaker B:

But, you know, it's Dean, so, I mean, at least I don't think this one's of age.

Speaker B:

But there was this, like, who are you?

Speaker B:

Why are you in my house?

Speaker A:

The doors open and Buster goes outside.

Speaker A:

And they broke a cardinal rule for me here in this episode, the dog goes outside, and Sam starts to tell the family that, look, y' all have a ghost in this house.

Speaker A:

It's dangerous.

Speaker B:

You in danger, girl.

Speaker B:

You in danger.

Speaker A:

Mm.

Speaker A:

And Dean's like, yeah, you've got to get out of this house.

Speaker A:

And then the power shuts off.

Speaker A:

And we're like, well, fuck, this is bad.

Speaker A:

And it gets worse because now we hear a dog yelping and crying outside.

Speaker B:

You.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker A:

And it's yelping and crying.

Speaker A:

They're yelling for the dog.

Speaker A:

And they go outside.

Speaker A:

And the yelping and crying stops.

Speaker A:

And there is a trail of blood to the moving truck that says, too late.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker B:

And all my.

Speaker B:

My notes right here is just like.

Speaker B:

Even though I know it's like, don't you fucking dare.

Speaker B:

Don't you dare.

Speaker B:

Then in capital letters, Buster.

Speaker B:

That and larger capital letters, you.

Speaker A:

I said not the dog.

Speaker A:

Very large.

Speaker A:

Not the dog.

Speaker B:

This fails.

Speaker B:

And did.

Speaker B:

The dog died.

Speaker B:

But yeah, dog died.

Speaker B:

And I don't know why y' all thought that was okay.

Speaker A:

You don't kill the dog, man.

Speaker B:

I would be much not saying it that I would be happier if Danny died, but Danny is stupid.

Speaker B:

Danny plays with a girl who throws a fake girl in the closet.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

Yeah, which one's better?

Speaker A:

He makes poor choices.

Speaker A:

Buster was just investigating.

Speaker B:

Yeah, he was just trying to be helpful and protect the fans.

Speaker B:

Family.

Speaker B:

So Buster clearly the better member of this family.

Speaker B:

Y' all up.

Speaker A:

Why wasn't Buster reacting to a girl in the wall?

Speaker A:

That's my other question, though.

Speaker A:

But we'll leave that.

Speaker B:

Was it the best dog?

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

Poor Buster.

Speaker A:

All right, so the brothers come in there.

Speaker A:

We're like, y' all gotta go to a motel.

Speaker A:

This is.

Speaker A:

This is scary.

Speaker A:

Your dog has now been murdered while we were all there.

Speaker A:

So, you know, we didn't do this.

Speaker A:

This is sketch.

Speaker A:

So they're like, okay, we'll go.

Speaker A:

But they got to their vehicles, and Baby's tires have been slashed.

Speaker A:

And the Escalades tires have been slashed.

Speaker A:

But more importantly and upsetting, they've stolen the guns out of Baby.

Speaker A:

Not just the ones in the front seat.

Speaker A:

The entire fucking trunk is empty.

Speaker B:

They violated trunk.

Speaker A:

Violated trunk.

Speaker A:

It is inexcusable.

Speaker A:

Like, this is up there with what happened to Buster.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker B:

And Dean yells, yeah, Buster's way worse.

Speaker B:

But this is still pretty bad.

Speaker B:

And Dean does.

Speaker B:

He does.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

What kind of ghost messes with the man's wheels?

Speaker B:

And you're right.

Speaker B:

What kind of ghost mess with the car?

Speaker B:

The guys.

Speaker A:

It's weird.

Speaker B:

What kind of ghost messes with the car?

Speaker B:

Anyways, okay, so Katie then sees the.

Speaker A:

Girl in the field watching them.

Speaker B:

And I.

Speaker B:

Yes, yes.

Speaker B:

Burn.

Speaker B:

Now.

Speaker B:

You burn the field.

Speaker B:

You burn the house, you burn the fields.

Speaker B:

This is clearly the correct course of action.

Speaker B:

You're like, no, we're going to go Inside the house because that's supposed to be safer.

Speaker B:

Dean is just coming up with all sorts of stupid plans.

Speaker A:

And he's like, well.

Speaker A:

But it's also confused why the ghost is outside.

Speaker A:

He's like, that's not.

Speaker A:

That's not real.

Speaker A:

But.

Speaker A:

But the ghost is obviously hunting them.

Speaker A:

So he makes.

Speaker B:

Now the ghost is hunting us.

Speaker B:

Oh, the tables have turned.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker A:

So he makes a salt circle in the living room and explains that they can't.

Speaker A:

That.

Speaker A:

That ghosts can't cross the salt.

Speaker A:

And Dad's like, we need to fucking leave.

Speaker A:

And Danny's like, wait, y' all hunt ghosts?

Speaker A:

Like, all excited, like, Scooby Doo.

Speaker B:

And I don't understand this.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

So Dee basically is like, I'm holding this family hostage.

Speaker B:

Like, I think you've lost it, Dean.

Speaker B:

Like, just let them go.

Speaker B:

Like, what the fuck?

Speaker B:

I mean, there's five of them.

Speaker B:

Or how many of them?

Speaker A:

How are they gonna leave?

Speaker A:

They can't leave anyways because they don't have wheels.

Speaker B:

Well, they could walk.

Speaker B:

And there's like.

Speaker B:

There's enough of them that, yeah, maybe you lose, like, Danny, but no one's gonna miss Danny if he dies.

Speaker B:

So, I mean, you might as well just take that risk.

Speaker B:

Use the kid as a bait.

Speaker B:

Just throw him at the ghost and off you go.

Speaker A:

You're just ready to sacrifice Danny.

Speaker A:

I get it.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

So he's not gonna grow up.

Speaker B:

Well, he's gonna be all traumatized.

Speaker B:

Danny's gonna become a serial killer.

Speaker B:

We will see Danny in a later episode as a serial killer because he's not getting out of this.

Speaker B:

Well.

Speaker B:

Or maybe Katie's not gonna be good either.

Speaker A:

No, but Danny's hand.

Speaker A:

She had her hand licked by something.

Speaker B:

By Casper the Privy ghost.

Speaker B:

So, yeah.

Speaker A:

So Sam's got.

Speaker A:

Picked the family photos.

Speaker A:

He's showing them to Kate, and he's like, hey, did this.

Speaker A:

Any of these?

Speaker B:

Look.

Speaker A:

Do these.

Speaker A:

Either these women look like the chick you saw?

Speaker A:

She's like, yeah, the daughter.

Speaker A:

The picture of the daughter.

Speaker A:

But she was paler and dirtier.

Speaker A:

And Danny's like, yeah, that's the girl on the walls.

Speaker A:

So now we've identified that the photo that they got of Bill Gibson's daughter resembles the girl in the wall if she were paler and dirtier.

Speaker A:

That's.

Speaker A:

That's where we got from there.

Speaker A:

So at this point, Uncle Ted tries to go a little rogue.

Speaker A:

He's like, this spirit's just like a hillbilly where this is bullshit.

Speaker A:

And Dean's like, oh, no.

Speaker A:

I'm gonna, like, checks him, like, physically and Threatens him with the gun that he does not have because it was stolen from the car.

Speaker A:

And Sam's like, are you all right?

Speaker A:

You okay here?

Speaker A:

And so Dean stays with the family while Sam goes to check out the attic.

Speaker A:

And Uncle Ted has smartass comments about if the salt's kosher.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And something else that occurred to me, and I was just looking this up to make sure.

Speaker A:

Like,.

Speaker B:

They even.

Speaker B:

I think in:

Speaker B:

If there is a violent death in a.

Speaker B:

In a house, like, I'm pretty sure, like, post Amity, like, I would say post 70s, that that came in, but I don't know, like, how early that was passed.

Speaker B:

But they would have had to have known because generally it's like with somebody's died violently in the house last three years because it's going to affect the house's value and just, you know, ghosts.

Speaker B:

So even though now there's a lot of properties, like, if you go look at New Orleans properties, a lot of them will tell you if it's haunted or not.

Speaker B:

And sometimes they're like, I don't know which one is the better.

Speaker B:

Like, do you want to get the one that's haunted or you want to get the one that says this one is definitely not haunted?

Speaker B:

Because if you put like, it's definitely not haunted, then I'm like, wait, wait a minute.

Speaker B:

Like, it's totally haunted.

Speaker B:

Like, you're like, definitely not.

Speaker B:

No ghosts in here.

Speaker B:

But so when they were like, oh, yeah, the daughter killed herself.

Speaker B:

Like, I'm surprised nobody was like, oh, yeah, on top of that violent murder that was just here.

Speaker A:

But does that count?

Speaker A:

Like, would the suicide 20 years ago count as a violent.

Speaker B:

Well, yeah, but the suicide, maybe not.

Speaker A:

But the recent murder, Bill Gibson's murder,.

Speaker B:

Being everywhere in the house.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker B:

They had to have known about this.

Speaker A:

Right?

Speaker B:

So I'm wondering why that didn't come up in the storyline.

Speaker B:

You know, where the family would have been like, oh, yeah, we knew there was a murder.

Speaker B:

This makes sense.

Speaker B:

There could be a ghost.

Speaker B:

And that would actually probably make this story easier because it's less of, like, Dean holding this family hostage.

Speaker B:

In a weird way.

Speaker B:

It's more.

Speaker B:

Anyways, I digress.

Speaker B:

Sorry.

Speaker A:

As he's holding them hostage, we get the closet door opening in that living room and the girl from the walls creeping out, and she is walking very similarly to how we've seen spirits and ghosts walk on this show before.

Speaker A:

Except she doesn't have the shutter Thing that really creeps me out.

Speaker B:

No, but she's popping her neck enough that it's almost doing the shutter effect.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

But the entire family sees her now.

Speaker A:

And Dean's like, oh, no, she's a ghost.

Speaker A:

So she can't walk into our circle, but she has a knife, and guess what?

Speaker A:

She's snarling and steps over the goddamn salt line.

Speaker B:

Oops.

Speaker A:

Oopsies.

Speaker A:

I thought you would step over it.

Speaker B:

No, no, not a ghost.

Speaker B:

Not a ghost.

Speaker B:

Not.

Speaker B:

This is not a ghost.

Speaker B:

Oh, no.

Speaker B:

So we're gonna fight.

Speaker B:

So you have.

Speaker A:

So Dean sends the family running while he starts to fight her with his poker and.

Speaker B:

Okay, I'll.

Speaker B:

I'll save this point for later.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

So they fight.

Speaker B:

And he's, like, not doing well against this child with a knife.

Speaker B:

And then Sam has a brilliant idea, and he's like, hey.

Speaker A:

And he calls her, flashlight in her eyeballs.

Speaker B:

Ah, not the light.

Speaker B:

No.

Speaker A:

And she runs and disappears into the closet.

Speaker B:

And then Dean names her as Psycho Nell.

Speaker B:

And that's just what I'm calling her for the rest of this as.

Speaker B:

Yeah, it's totally appropriate.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker B:

Psycho Nell.

Speaker B:

That's who she is now.

Speaker B:

And they're like, well, who the fuck is Psycho now?

Speaker B:

And Sam's like, I don't know.

Speaker B:

All I found in this attic was Rebecca's diary.

Speaker A:

The daughter.

Speaker B:

Could this be useful?

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

Maybe.

Speaker A:

Doubtful.

Speaker A:

We'll check it later, you know?

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker B:

So glad that was there.

Speaker A:

But they pointed out that if it had been the daughter, she'd be, like, 50 years old now.

Speaker A:

So we know it's not Rebecca.

Speaker A:

It's not Bill Gibson's daughter.

Speaker B:

Unless it's, like, she could be a monster.

Speaker B:

Like, I'm surprised they didn't explore that.

Speaker B:

That possibility not.

Speaker A:

But they're implying that it's unlikely that it's her.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

So there's like, whatever.

Speaker B:

And there's like, all right, let's get everybody together.

Speaker B:

And Danny.

Speaker A:

Danny's missing.

Speaker A:

God damn it.

Speaker B:

God damn it, Danny.

Speaker B:

Like, you realize that, like, all this would be fine if Danny never played with that baseball with that chick.

Speaker A:

I know.

Speaker B:

So Danny got your dog killed and about to get someone else killed.

Speaker B:

Fuck you, Danny.

Speaker B:

All right, so now Dean's, like, has, like, this really great idea.

Speaker A:

Go hide them all in the shed because the windows are boarded up or something.

Speaker A:

I mean, it's not in the house.

Speaker A:

I get it.

Speaker B:

It's like, it seems like a defensible position.

Speaker B:

Right?

Speaker B:

It's like, okay, I only have this one entrance into Here that is easier to defend.

Speaker B:

I can kind of understand that.

Speaker B:

Maybe.

Speaker B:

I guess.

Speaker A:

So our brothers get dad and Ted to go search the house.

Speaker B:

Yeah, the mid folk.

Speaker B:

Midfolk.

Speaker B:

We're gonna go take care of things.

Speaker A:

So now they've left Susan and Kate by themselves in the shed.

Speaker B:

Okay, sure.

Speaker B:

This all makes sense.

Speaker A:

Sure.

Speaker A:

So first, while Sam and Ted wait, we get Dean and.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Sam and Brian are taking the outside and Dean and Ted are taking the inside because Sam decided to break them up and then to send the two that didn't like each other really a lot together inside the house.

Speaker B:

House.

Speaker A:

Because this makes sense.

Speaker A:

So Dean finds a panel in the.

Speaker A:

In the closet.

Speaker A:

All.

Speaker B:

All the wood paneling.

Speaker B:

The wood paneling.

Speaker A:

So much wood paneling.

Speaker A:

So much wood paneling.

Speaker A:

And finds a panel that opens.

Speaker A:

And there's like.

Speaker A:

If they don't really like talk about it, but from the audience perspective, the camera perspective, you see like bloody fingerprints on the inside of it.

Speaker A:

Just kind of a nice.

Speaker A:

A nice detail, if you will.

Speaker B:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker A:

And he opens it and they go inside the wall.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And he opens it up and smells.

Speaker B:

And Dean like makes a comment that he smells is like, I smell that every day.

Speaker B:

And I'm like, so is that Sam, The Sam just smell like, smell really bad.

Speaker B:

Like, you don't smell this every day.

Speaker B:

Dean, shut the fuck up.

Speaker A:

Dramatic.

Speaker A:

They go into the wall.

Speaker A:

And now I've just got some commentary really quickly on a personal ish note.

Speaker A:

So we just did some minor renovation in my house.

Speaker A:

I did have a room with wood paneling and a poor use of space behind wood paneling.

Speaker A:

And all I can think of is like, man, they are really missing out on some square footage in this house with all this space in the fucking walls.

Speaker A:

You could just take down one side.

Speaker B:

And you get like two more feet of room space.

Speaker A:

You could add walk in closets and fucking pantries galore.

Speaker B:

Just say, yeah, we ever got our haunted AGV show, we could do that in this.

Speaker B:

Like, look, take your murder crawl space and knock that out.

Speaker B:

Take the corpses out of the crawl space and you get so much more room.

Speaker B:

There's so many more.

Speaker A:

It smells less like death.

Speaker B:

It smells like, you know, and maybe we want to consider, you know, keeping our corpses outside.

Speaker B:

You know, it's just going to be better for like your resale value.

Speaker B:

That's what that shed was for, was for the dead bodies and the rats and everything else, but also crawl space.

Speaker B:

Would I like to go inside this?

Speaker B:

No, thank you.

Speaker A:

No.

Speaker B:

Yeah, hard pass.

Speaker B:

I will say that they did actually build a set for this space.

Speaker B:

And so this is.

Speaker B:

This was shot in the studio.

Speaker B:

They did have a location for the house and stuff.

Speaker B:

But this was in order to make it work.

Speaker A:

Like.

Speaker B:

But they also were, like, trying to curate the tension by making it small and stuff.

Speaker B:

But as I looked at that, I'm like, yeah, my tits would have gotten stuck, like, right there.

Speaker B:

Like, I would have just been like, guys, yeah, we're not going anywhere.

Speaker B:

I live here now.

Speaker B:

And then I would have to live in the walls.

Speaker B:

I would be the girl in the walls.

Speaker B:

The girl in the wall.

Speaker A:

All right, so I'm not super claustrophobic.

Speaker A:

Like, not like some people are.

Speaker A:

But shit like this fucking ekes me out.

Speaker B:

It should.

Speaker B:

There's a reason it's dusty.

Speaker B:

It's full of.

Speaker B:

Clearly, it's full of rats.

Speaker A:

I just get.

Speaker A:

I feel, like the concept of being, like, trapped like that or, like, just not having a good motion.

Speaker B:

Like, oh, I want to be able to turn around.

Speaker B:

Like, I need to be able to do a pirouette no matter where I am.

Speaker B:

And if I can't dance, I can't move.

Speaker A:

So, yeah, I'm gonna.

Speaker A:

Liz.

Speaker A:

Can't pirouette.

Speaker B:

Can't.

Speaker B:

Can't live.

Speaker B:

All right, so they keep.

Speaker B:

They.

Speaker B:

They both go into the.

Speaker B:

No, thank you crawl space.

Speaker B:

Why haven't you burned this place down yet?

Speaker B:

And now there's a hole in the floor.

Speaker B:

I'm like, nope, still not doing that.

Speaker A:

So Dean's gonna go down in it.

Speaker A:

And he says, please don't let her grab my leg.

Speaker A:

Please don't let her grab my leg while he's lowering himself, which did crack me up for that.

Speaker B:

But also, that is exactly what I would be thinking, which is why I would never.

Speaker B:

I don't like going under these stairs.

Speaker B:

Like, oh, where were we?

Speaker B:

Oh, Zach Lagan's Haunted.

Speaker B:

Zack, what the fuck?

Speaker B:

Your name is Ghost Hunters Haunted Museum in Las Vegas.

Speaker B:

They have, you know.

Speaker B:

Well, remember when we were watching.

Speaker B:

I made you watch that demon show at your house?

Speaker B:

I watched the movie about the demon house, and they were underneath the stairs where they kept finding fingernails and shit.

Speaker B:

They brought those stairs to the museum, and so you can go under them and, like, look for fingernails.

Speaker B:

I don't know, maybe a whole set.

Speaker A:

And just glue that shit on.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

I don't like things that other things can hide under.

Speaker B:

That's just me.

Speaker B:

I just.

Speaker B:

Just don't, so.

Speaker B:

And then, like, it's even worse because there's a hanging rat and then there's a lot of Buster.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

There's a lot of Buster.

Speaker A:

It's very sad.

Speaker A:

There's flies and bones and.

Speaker B:

Yeah, it's not a good living environment.

Speaker B:

And again, if you renovated that space, that could become a whole nother bedroom.

Speaker B:

Like, think of how much resale value.

Speaker B:

There's room for a closet in there.

Speaker B:

So this can become a whole bedroom.

Speaker A:

Yeah, it could be an extra suite.

Speaker A:

It could be an in law suite or a guest suite.

Speaker A:

You could rent it out on Airbnb.

Speaker A:

Just saying, rental income.

Speaker A:

Come on now.

Speaker B:

Yeah, come visit my murder house, which actually would probably raise a lot of money.

Speaker B:

And then.

Speaker B:

Oh, no.

Speaker B:

Ted gets stabbed in the head.

Speaker A:

Yeah, she stalked Ted while Dean was downstairs, and she stabs him in the head and then throws his head through the hole, which is extra upsetting because it, like, kind of blocks away.

Speaker A:

I'm like, oh, fuck.

Speaker A:

Dean's gonna be trapped by Ted's head.

Speaker A:

This is not cool.

Speaker B:

And then it also just gives us so much time for poetry, you know, Ted's dead.

Speaker B:

Ted's head, you know, all those good things.

Speaker B:

And then we hear pitter patter.

Speaker B:

Everyone's just like that.

Speaker B:

Like, we get the little mic sound.

Speaker B:

That's the sound of the better patter.

Speaker B:

So let's get at her.

Speaker B:

All right, so now they're in the shed.

Speaker B:

Somehow they've gone inside the shed, and Sam and Brian are in there with Susan and Katie.

Speaker B:

And Brian wants to go outside and.

Speaker A:

There and explains that he had to carry Ted out.

Speaker B:

Ted.

Speaker B:

Dad.

Speaker B:

And they're like, oh, no.

Speaker B:

Awkward.

Speaker B:

This also does not look good for you.

Speaker B:

You left with him and now he's dead.

Speaker A:

But mom is freaking out.

Speaker A:

She's like, danny's dead.

Speaker A:

Fuck.

Speaker A:

Danny's fucking dead.

Speaker A:

She's just committed, lost all hope that Danny's alive.

Speaker A:

And then she's talking about why she doesn't understand why these things are happening to them, which is a reference, obviously, to something with Andy, which we haven't gotten the full story on yet.

Speaker B:

Yeah, but she's just spiraling.

Speaker B:

She is spiraling.

Speaker A:

Totally spiraling.

Speaker B:

And Bride, at least is being the helpful partner of being like, it'll be fine.

Speaker B:

There's just, you know, a psycho girl here and just you.

Speaker B:

We can clean it out.

Speaker B:

We can still, you know, maybe we can get our escrow back.

Speaker B:

I don't know why he asked that.

Speaker B:

I was like, why are we still here?

Speaker B:

Like, I don't know.

Speaker B:

Like, maybe we can still back out of this deal.

Speaker B:

Maybe hasn't officially closed.

Speaker B:

There's a lot of things that you should be thinking about.

Speaker B:

Leaving this place now.

Speaker B:

But that's not what they think about.

Speaker B:

They're just.

Speaker A:

No, we're going to be fine.

Speaker B:

This is fun.

Speaker A:

So down outside, we've got Dean and dad Brian.

Speaker A:

And Dean asks if Andy was their son.

Speaker A:

And he.

Speaker A:

Brian, explains.

Speaker A:

Yeah, he was our oldest.

Speaker A:

He died in a car accident.

Speaker A:

And this move was our fresh start for our.

Speaker A:

It was from the advice of our marriage counselor.

Speaker A:

And the quote from marriage counselor was, what could possibly go wrong in the country?

Speaker B:

Yeah, lots of things.

Speaker B:

Lots of things go wrong in the country.

Speaker A:

That says the person who has never lived in the country.

Speaker B:

Yeah, yeah, that was the city person saying that.

Speaker B:

Anyways.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

Lovely, idyllic country.

Speaker A:

But one interesting thing, though, I do want to point out before we move on from the scene is Brian that does not understand why Dean cares so much about helping them, which I think is an interesting point.

Speaker B:

That is interesting because Dean is getting a little obsessed with this.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah, he's invested.

Speaker B:

He's already been holding these people hostage, and now he's just like, I'm gonna get your son back.

Speaker B:

It was the last God forsaken thing I'd do.

Speaker B:

I don't know why he became a hillbilly.

Speaker B:

Yeah, but you can't say last God forsaken thing and not have a hillbilly accent.

Speaker B:

Like, I don't know how Jensen Ackles did that.

Speaker B:

That.

Speaker B:

But then Sam's like, hey, Dean, I.

Speaker A:

Read the diary finally that might have a tip in it.

Speaker A:

And I found a really good piece of information.

Speaker B:

Come inside.

Speaker B:

Let's talk about this.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker A:

So the daughter, Rebecca.

Speaker A:

Rebecca, who hung herself, was pregnant.

Speaker A:

And her father, Bill Gibson, called her, quote, a dirty little whore and said he was going to lock up the baby where no one could see it.

Speaker A:

And Dean is a little confused and makes a face at Sam.

Speaker A:

And Sam kind of like, nods like, come on, you got this.

Speaker A:

Put it together.

Speaker A:

And Dean says, oh, gross.

Speaker A:

And yes, I agree.

Speaker A:

Oh, gross.

Speaker B:

The daddy was a baby daddy, too.

Speaker B:

Humans, man.

Speaker B:

All right, so let's talk about some other gross humans, God damn it.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

You should be so excited.

Speaker B:

It's lore time.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

Lore time.

Speaker B:

So this episode was based on a true crime story of the Austrian, Joseph Fritzel, who kept his daughter locked in a basement for 24 years, fathering seven children with her.

Speaker B:

And oddly enough, he actually is in the news right now because he's being moved from a psychiatric detention center to a regular prison.

Speaker B:

And this literally is in the.

Speaker B:

Came out in the news, like today.

Speaker B:

So just kind of fortuitous on I guess, on that.

Speaker B:

But basically they're saying that he's not crazy anymore and he can go to a regular prison where hopefully bad things will happen to him.

Speaker B:

But we're not going to talk about that gross case.

Speaker B:

Instead, we're going to talk about this gross case, the McClures.

Speaker B:

's go back in time, back into:

Speaker B:

Remember:

Speaker B:

We had the Mueller report.

Speaker B:

We had Brexit.

Speaker B:

It was just the good old days.

Speaker B:

It was so calm and peaceful.

Speaker B:

Some things are on fire, but not everything was on fire, just some things.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

And It's Mother's Day:

Speaker B:

Like, there's probably a bat being in Wuhan somewhere, but at this time, like, we're all good.

Speaker B:

No, actually, no, this is, you know, we can't come over anyway.

Speaker B:

So Mother's Day is around and there's a mother, Angela and her son, which.

Speaker A:

Is appropriate because when you listen to this episode, we'll only be a week out for Mother's Day.

Speaker B:

Actually, I do have a reminder on your reminder.

Speaker B:

Mother's Day is like a week from Sunday.

Speaker A:

There you go.

Speaker B:

Sorry.

Speaker B:

And so Angela is the mother of John McGuire, who was 38, the father of six.

Speaker B:

He was a prolific man.

Speaker B:

And she hadn't heard from her son, and that was very unusual.

Speaker B:

And the last she had heard from him, that he was going on a road trip with his girlfriend, sometimes fiance, Amanda McClure.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

But they were going to come to her to Alabama eventually, and they were going to help her out with some house.

Speaker B:

And she said, you know, the last time I talked to him, it's almost like he knew something was going to happen.

Speaker B:

Sorry, she's from Alabama, so I had to do that.

Speaker B:

And she's like, I was worry about the kids.

Speaker B:

And he just told me, please don't worry.

Speaker B:

I'm always looking out for them, even when I'm not there.

Speaker B:

Trust me.

Speaker B:

So John, 38, six kids, not the greatest of lives.

Speaker B:

You know, he's a meth addict.

Speaker B:

And so was his girlfriend, Amanda.

Speaker B:

And they had been living in Minnesota, but they were leaving that because she had warrants.

Speaker B:

And so.

Speaker B:

And in a lot of the news stories is that they were on their way to Westbridge, Virginia, but in the sword and scale version of it, which is where they're actually interviewing Angela and who you're about to her sister, you're about to meet Anna, they're saying that they were just going to Alabama and they broke down Indiana.

Speaker B:

So they broke down in Indiana in their Stolen car.

Speaker B:

Because meth addicts.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And so they called her sister Anna for help.

Speaker B:

And Anna at this time was living with her father, with their father, Larry McClure, and he had just been released from prison seven months earlier.

Speaker B:

Now why, why was Larry in prison?

Speaker B:

he had been put in prison in:

Speaker B:

They did not name who that was, but they said it was a child between 6 and 12.

Speaker B:

And Amanda would have been 9.

Speaker B:

Her sister Anna was 10.

Speaker B:

And so, yeah, it gross.

Speaker B:

So it was.

Speaker B:

That's what happened.

Speaker B:

So when that happened, they got put into foster care.

Speaker B:

Anna ended up going to nursing school and starting a family in North Carolina, but also drugs.

Speaker B:

And Amanda, she had adopted parents Alan and Gwen home, and she ran away from them.

Speaker B:

Ended up just getting really heavily into Drugs.

Speaker B:

Had a 32 page rap sheet.

Speaker B:

Like, I don't even know how you do.

Speaker B:

Like, that's a lot of crime.

Speaker B:

That's just.

Speaker B:

That seems like a lot of crime.

Speaker A:

Small crimes, though, to not be like.

Speaker B:

Well, and they said they're mostly drug related, so I'm assuming it was probably a lot of petty theft and other things that, you know, junkies do.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

But after Larry is released from prison, Anna wanted to give her father a second chance and she joined him in sky custody.

Speaker B:

West Virginia.

Speaker B:

Now that is in McDowell county, which according to Wikipedia, is among the unhealthiest of any county in the United States.

Speaker B:

With the high rates of drug abuse and poverty and a life expectancy well below the US Average.

Speaker B:

Sounds like a great place to go hang out.

Speaker B:

Yes, very much like where the whites lived.

Speaker B:

Go watch the.

Speaker A:

If you haven't seen them.

Speaker A:

Yeah, if you haven't seen that.

Speaker A:

The white.

Speaker A:

What is it?

Speaker B:

There's a few documentaries on them.

Speaker B:

Yeah, just look up the white.

Speaker B:

Well, yeah, it says if you look at whites, West Virginia, you're probably also going to get to a lot of Klan stuff.

Speaker B:

So you may want to put in whites.

Speaker B:

West Virginia, Hank Williams the Third.

Speaker B:

And vlogging.

Speaker A:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker B:

And then I get there.

Speaker B:

All right, so Anna's like, yeah, I'm staying with Larry and it's fine because he's not molesting me now.

Speaker B:

So it is like, things are great.

Speaker B:

You know, he's not being inappropriate with me.

Speaker B:

What a good man.

Speaker B:

So Amanda calls Anna and she's like.

Speaker B:

Is like, yeah, yeah, we'll figure this out.

Speaker B:

Larry sends some money for a motel there in Lafayette, Indiana.

Speaker B:

We're going to come get you.

Speaker B:

So Anna and Larry come get them and they don't realize, I think that John was with them.

Speaker B:

So they come in this pickup truck and they drive in one of those, like one seater pickup trucks with Amanda on the floor, like underneath, like the.

Speaker B:

On the passenger side.

Speaker B:

And then Larry, John and Anna up on the top.

Speaker B:

Apparently, though, Amanda was also like so, like knocked out at this time that she was really skinny.

Speaker B:

So I'm sure it was fine.

Speaker B:

So they get to the shack in Sky Gusty and there's no running water, no electricity, no cell service, but a fun family reunion.

Speaker B:

And you know what would make a family reunion even more fun?

Speaker B:

Meth.

Speaker B:

Because the family that does crank together stays together.

Speaker B:

So they're like, hey, let's just make some meth.

Speaker B:

But they're not good at it.

Speaker B:

And so when they make it, it doesn't crystallize.

Speaker B:

It just goes into the liquid.

Speaker B:

Like, basically like it's a liquid form.

Speaker B:

I don't know the difference between it, but it's not good.

Speaker B:

I.

Speaker A:

Liquid meth.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

I know a lot about drugs, but I don't know anything about liquid meth.

Speaker B:

And I guess that's good.

Speaker B:

Good for me.

Speaker B:

I don't know anything about this drug.

Speaker A:

Yay.

Speaker B:

Yay.

Speaker A:

Achievement unlocked.

Speaker B:

Achievement unlocked.

Speaker B:

We have adulted.

Speaker B:

Well, if you don't know about this.

Speaker B:

All right.

Speaker B:

So they end up putting that in glass jugs for some reason, nobody knows why.

Speaker B:

So they put that in glass.

Speaker A:

Drugs.

Speaker B:

And they just go buy some actual masks because it's West Virginia.

Speaker B:

And you know, I'm pretty sure they just went next door and they're like, hey, I'm out of sugar.

Speaker B:

And also math.

Speaker B:

I'm like, here you go, friends.

Speaker B:

So then Anna said things started getting strange.

Speaker A:

What?

Speaker B:

You're at a house, a shack.

Speaker A:

This is where things started getting strange.

Speaker A:

Normal up till.

Speaker B:

Just totally normal in this West Virginia shack, doing math with my family and my sister's boyfriend and my dad who used to molest me.

Speaker B:

Oh, great.

Speaker B:

Oh, great.

Speaker B:

And Larry developed what Anna called a quiet rage towards John.

Speaker B:

And he would take Amanda off to the side and talk to her.

Speaker B:

And he started treating her like she was a little girl.

Speaker B:

And Amanda seemed to really appreciate this and start taking it.

Speaker B:

So basically, Larry is starting to groom Amanda and he's becoming very possessive of her, like around John.

Speaker B:

And you know, like, things are.

Speaker B:

Things are getting strange.

Speaker B:

And he's like, hey, Anna, why don't you cut up this rope for me?

Speaker B:

And she's like, this is normal because we often do this to haul scrap metal to buy math.

Speaker B:

She didn't say to buy math.

Speaker B:

But I'm just assuming hauled scrap metal is followed by those three words.

Speaker B:

Because that typically would be, yeah, I stole copper to buy math.

Speaker B:

Math I haul.

Speaker B:

You know, I sold scrap metal to buy meth.

Speaker B:

Like, that's just how that goes.

Speaker B:

All right, so Valentine's Day has come around.

Speaker B:

Oh, what a lovely, lovely holiday.

Speaker B:

And Larry is like, let's celebrate family, not weird.

Speaker B:

Let's get some steaks and some wine.

Speaker B:

And I'm also trying to imagine what wine they bought in West Virginia in sky dusty West Virginia.

Speaker B:

Like, oh, I had to be some good shit.

Speaker B:

I think he just probably just bought some Thunderbird.

Speaker B:

So he bought some steaks and some Thunderbird.

Speaker B:

I'm pretty sure that's what's going on.

Speaker B:

And then all of a sudden he's like, let's play some trust games.

Speaker B:

Like, all right.

Speaker B:

And Anna says, you know, Amanda had been joking about how she was able to get out of anything.

Speaker B:

She was able to tie herself up.

Speaker B:

And nobody believes she could tie herself up this way.

Speaker B:

So they play this rope game.

Speaker B:

They anatize herself up.

Speaker B:

She gets out of that, they tie up, man, I don't know.

Speaker B:

They're all tying each other up with rope.

Speaker B:

It's weird.

Speaker B:

And eventually they tied John to this chair and he was like, oh, not funny.

Speaker B:

I'm going to go get out of this.

Speaker B:

So he bends down to untie his feet and Amanda hit him over the head with a wine bottle.

Speaker B:

So she bashes him on the back of the head.

Speaker B:

And then Anna says, and the next thing I knew, John had reared up and was leaning back against the wall holding his head.

Speaker B:

And that's when Larry looked at me and told me if I knew what was best for children and wanted them to live, I would follow all instructions that were given to me from that moment on.

Speaker B:

So in these side conversations with Amanda, Larry had apparently convinced Amanda that John was either a police informant or a federal agent.

Speaker B:

They kind of go back and forth in the story, but also, this is girls meth brain.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

Like, I had a cousin who tied it who tied somebody up to a tree and chased her with an ax.

Speaker B:

Like, meth people aren't good good.

Speaker A:

So meth is bad.

Speaker A:

Kids, meth is bad.

Speaker A:

Liquid or solid?

Speaker B:

Liquid or solid, Whatever.

Speaker B:

Don't do it.

Speaker B:

All right, so for two to three days, they torture John, trying to get him to confess that he's an agent.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

And finally they told him they were going to shoot him up with sodium.

Speaker B:

Yeah, I can never see that word.

Speaker B:

But you know what I mean, the truth serum.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

That actually isn't a thing.

Speaker B:

Like, it doesn't really work, but.

Speaker B:

So remember, Anna was trained as a nurse.

Speaker B:

So they're like, well, you can find a vein.

Speaker B:

But I'm also like, you're all meth addicts, and you're shooting up.

Speaker B:

You can all find a vein.

Speaker B:

And I don't even want to think about trying to find a vein on a guy who's.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

John's veins could not have been good.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

But instead of shooting him up with truth serum, what they shoot him up with is two syringes of that liquid method meth.

Speaker A:

Oh, God.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And I don't know what they thought was gonna happen because, you know, that's not.

Speaker B:

Like, you're not shooting him up with heroin.

Speaker B:

You're shooting him up with an amphetamine.

Speaker B:

So he goes a little crazy because Shot him up meth.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And then they basically all, like, jump on him.

Speaker B:

Larry stands on his chest, and Amanda put a trash bag over his head.

Speaker B:

And then Anna said she was forced to.

Speaker B:

I don't know Anna.

Speaker B:

Well, Anna then strangled him with the rope.

Speaker B:

So John is now dead, and they were going to try and put him in a mineshaft that somehow didn't work.

Speaker B:

I never got the full story about what.

Speaker B:

What that looks like, Which.

Speaker B:

Sorry, that could have been kind of funny.

Speaker B:

But why that didn't work.

Speaker B:

I know.

Speaker B:

They couldn't pick him up.

Speaker B:

They couldn't fit him in the mineshaft.

Speaker A:

Like Benny Hill music playing in the background.

Speaker B:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker B:

So they end up putting him in garbage bags and burying him in a shallow grave.

Speaker B:

But, you know, meth heads be crazy.

Speaker B:

And Amanda is conv.

Speaker B:

That he's a vampire or something.

Speaker B:

And, like, I don't think he's dead.

Speaker B:

I want to make sure he's dead.

Speaker B:

So six days after he is buried.

Speaker A:

Oh, God.

Speaker B:

They dig him up, they dismember him, and then they stick him to the ground just like vampire tales of old.

Speaker B:

And they do that with bed rails and a sledgehammer.

Speaker A:

Oh, what?

Speaker B:

Yeah, because Amanda was convinced he was alive because the hair on his head was still growing.

Speaker B:

Because Amanda was convinced.

Speaker B:

Because math.

Speaker A:

Yeah, that's a better.

Speaker B:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker B:

So he gets buried, and so remember,.

Speaker A:

This is, like, time to round two buried.

Speaker B:

Round two buried.

Speaker B:

So we're, like, kind of getting towards the end of February here.

Speaker B:

Then it gets to March 11, and we have a happy celebration day when Amanda and Larry go get married in neighboring Tazewell County.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker A:

Yep.

Speaker B:

They got married.

Speaker B:

And you know, Anna was with witness.

Speaker B:

And Anna put a fake name, that line for father of the bride, because she couldn't put him.

Speaker B:

Because, you know, thankfully, even in West Virginia and Virginia, it is so illegal to bury your father, but it's actually only a misdemeanor.

Speaker B:

Like, shouldn't this be poor?

Speaker B:

I have a lot of problems with this.

Speaker B:

Anyway, so what do you do?

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

Whatever.

Speaker A:

Go ahead.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker B:

So they get married and they keep cashing John's Social Security checks or.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

So at this point, we're gonna get him.

Speaker B:

Well, you think?

Speaker B:

But no.

Speaker B:

So they're cashing his security checks, and his family, like, time goes.

Speaker B:

Going on and like Mother's Day, like I said in the beginning, comes around.

Speaker B:

She hasn't heard from John.

Speaker B:

She's like, what's going on?

Speaker B:

You know, I don't know what's.

Speaker B:

What's happening, but the Clors have left West Virginia, and they have gone to the much more progressive state of Kentucky.

Speaker B:

And there's.

Speaker B:

Anna says, this is.

Speaker B:

And I only heard this on sword and scale, and I did not find it documented.

Speaker B:

New Ralph.

Speaker B:

So this is all the words of Anna Chowdhury.

Speaker B:

And so whether or not they're true or not, I don't know.

Speaker B:

But she says, okay, they moved there.

Speaker B:

They started staying with family, and they were controlling her, and she couldn't escape.

Speaker B:

Like, there is.

Speaker B:

They wouldn't give her a phone.

Speaker B:

And there is, like.

Speaker B:

Would never give them enough gas so she could get anywhere.

Speaker B:

And so Amanda and Larry are now living as Brittany and Larry.

Speaker B:

And he is not introducing her as my child bride.

Speaker B:

He is introducing her as his wife, Brittany.

Speaker B:

But also, Anna said they were staying with family.

Speaker A:

So I'm like, then they know, don't you.

Speaker B:

Did you not see that family photo album?

Speaker B:

Like, this is this.

Speaker B:

I don't know if I believe any of what.

Speaker B:

What she says about.

Speaker B:

I think this may be total bullshit.

Speaker B:

It's a great story if it's not.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So according to her, in Kentucky, Larry wanted to start a business.

Speaker B:

And in order to start the business, he wanted Anna to go back to work at the carnival because apparently she was skilled in the carnival.

Speaker B:

Shocking to nobody.

Speaker B:

The.

Speaker A:

Hold on, Country Carney.

Speaker A:

I can't believe that.

Speaker A:

I'm completely shocked.

Speaker B:

I'm also very disappointed that carney aspect did not come out and were the reports on this.

Speaker B:

So hopefully someday there will be a movie where the carny aspect comes out, because I want to know more.

Speaker B:

All right.

Speaker B:

So she says he wants her to be a Carnie.

Speaker B:

So she could still steal children.

Speaker B:

Because he wants to start a brothel that would have young children in that.

Speaker B:

That he could sell to other sex offenders.

Speaker B:

Because remember, he's on the sex registry.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And he said that while he was in prison, they had to like, they had to teach them about how.

Speaker B:

What the sex registry was and how it worked.

Speaker B:

So he could go in that and identify other sex offenders and know their.

Speaker A:

Proclivities, sell children to them and.

Speaker B:

And cater this guy to them.

Speaker A:

This guy was like, has just taken his ship bag.

Speaker A:

Epic level of evil.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

If this is true, this is the only thing I heard Anna saying this.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So he wanted to do that.

Speaker B:

And finally Anna was like.

Speaker B:

Was able to escape.

Speaker B:

She ended up hitchhiking with a trucker.

Speaker B:

Her cut.

Speaker B:

Whatever cousin, she said fight, you know, was able to get her out.

Speaker B:

She was able to get a hold of her fiance.

Speaker B:

And then he sent her money for a bus ticket.

Speaker B:

And it was like, you know, so she escaped to North Carolina on a bus.

Speaker B:

And so while she's there, she's talking to her cousin.

Speaker B:

And her cousin says that the Larry and Amanda had little girls at that property.

Speaker B:

And then like, they were just like little girls in the town that were going missing and that she thinks that he was throwing those girls off.

Speaker B:

I don't know if this is true because that you would think it would have come into the story.

Speaker B:

And nobody else said anything about missing little girls.

Speaker B:

So I know this guy is a shitbag.

Speaker B:

I just don't know if he was that evil.

Speaker A:

Evil shit bag.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

No, he's not evil shitbag.

Speaker B:

Like, I just don't know, like if he.

Speaker B:

That was part of the crimes that he committed.

Speaker A:

Right.

Speaker B:

So it's still not good.

Speaker B:

Not good.

Speaker B:

So one thing though, like, if you are a sex offender, you have to register yourself.

Speaker B:

And at some point, Larry ends up getting busted for not registering himself as a sex offender.

Speaker B:

Offender.

Speaker B:

So in September:

Speaker B:

And according to.

Speaker B:

I don't know what story this was, but Amanda stopped sending him money.

Speaker B:

And so he just flips on her and basically tells cop the cops, like, hey, I may not have registered, but I have a body for you, and my daughter killed a man.

Speaker B:

So he throws Amanda under the bus.

Speaker B:

Yeah, I know.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

And he starts off with the story just like starts telling them everything.

Speaker B:

They go up, they fight, they find John's body.

Speaker B:

And so the family found like John's family finally knows what happens.

Speaker B:

And so now then they go and arrest Amanda in Chicago city, Minnesota.

Speaker B:

So Amanda had gone From Kentucky to Minnesota.

Speaker B:

And Anna gets arrested in Boone, North Carolina.

Speaker B:

life without mercy in August:

Speaker B:

So basically there's like life without parole ye in West Virginia, Amanda, who was 31 at the time, she pled guilty to second degree murder and got a 40 year sentence.

Speaker B:

And the judge was basically saying that she was blaming on her father and not taking full responsibility because she was saying I was under influence of my dad.

Speaker B:

And I'm like, well you're also meth, right?

Speaker B:

I think this is really interesting because it's going to come up like in the episode in a bit.

Speaker B:

So I kind of like how that's going to go.

Speaker B:

But the judge is basically like no.

Speaker B:

And then they end up up also Amanda, Anna also gets 40 years, so she gets the same sentence as her sister.

Speaker B:

Basically John's mom allowed them to plead down from first degree to second.

Speaker B:

And so that's why they got the lighter sentences.

Speaker B:

And then like John's mom Angela said is like I had known all the shit they had done, I probably wouldn't have agreed to that plea deal.

Speaker B:

But I don't know.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

But here is my favorite twist about this story.

Speaker B:

All right, so both sisters, Amanda and Anna are incarcerated at the same place.

Speaker B:

They're at Lakin Correctional center and Jail in West Virginia.

Speaker B:

This is a maximum security correctional facility only it's the only all female prison in West Virginia.

Speaker B:

And it is built on land that was once the Lake and State Hospital.

Speaker B:

And this actually was a very interesting hospital.

Speaker B:

It was West Virginia State Hospital for African American mentally health mental health patients.

Speaker B:

Although that time it was called the West Virginia State Hospital for the Colored Insane.

Speaker B:

Which just sounds like terrible things happen there.

Speaker B:

But actually the beginning of it, it was one of the few hospitals that was completely staffed by African Americans.

Speaker B:

And we were actually getting really good care out to the community.

Speaker B:

But as all things go like nothing stays good forever.

Speaker B:

And in:

Speaker B:

And eventually though the site becomes the Lake and Correctional Facility, the woman's prison.

Speaker B:

And the only there is still administration building from that state hospital and it's used as storage.

Speaker B:

And you know that shit's haunted.

Speaker B:

There's no way like this place is so haunted.

Speaker B:

So Amanda is getting haunted, wanted like a motherfucker all the time.

Speaker B:

I don't know how I feel about like Anna, like I kind of go back and forth.

Speaker B:

I think, like, she made bad choices.

Speaker B:

Yes.

Speaker B:

But I also think Anna got.

Speaker B:

Was just dealt some really shitty hands in life and was never taught to make better choices.

Speaker B:

So I kind of feel bummed for Anna, But Amanda also kind of feel bummed for her because she's really got, you know, like.

Speaker B:

And everyone just, like, goes off about how awful she is, and I'm like, yeah, but she had a real shitty life.

Speaker B:

And I don't know, maybe she doesn't deserve to be haunted by the ghost that's right by her bed right now.

Speaker B:

But maybe she does.

Speaker B:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

Boo.

Speaker A:

She does.

Speaker B:

Boo, Amanda.

Speaker A:

All right, well, thanks for that fucked up story.

Speaker B:

I told you, I gave a trigger warning for a reason.

Speaker B:

I knew she was weird.

Speaker B:

And also, it was really sad when it was, like, trying to think find you was going to do this episode.

Speaker B:

Episode.

Speaker B:

And I was duck, duck, go searching for murder.

Speaker B:

I just put in murder, incest.

Speaker B:

There's a lot that comes upsettingly.

Speaker A:

A large amount.

Speaker B:

I was upsetting a lot.

Speaker B:

But this, that story just.

Speaker B:

There's a lot of similarities.

Speaker B:

This and the Fritzel story is good.

Speaker B:

It's been covered a lot.

Speaker B:

And if I'd known that had been the news, I probably would have gone there.

Speaker B:

But that story is awesome.

Speaker B:

Also just horrifying.

Speaker B:

And while this one is Also, like, the McClures are also horrifying, at least.

Speaker B:

I don't know, it's less horrifying than being someone being locked in a basement for 24 years and giving birth to seven children, raising them down there, which is what happened here.

Speaker B:

So Psychonell was locked up her whole life.

Speaker A:

So, in summary, what we've pieced together now at this point in the story is that Bill Gibson was a shitbag because after his wife died in childbirth, he fucked his daughter.

Speaker A:

She got pregnant, and he was.

Speaker A:

Called her a whore and said the kids would never see the light of day.

Speaker A:

Kid would never see the light of day.

Speaker A:

And so she hung herself.

Speaker A:

And so now this baby, who has the same daddy and granddaddy, has been living in the walls.

Speaker A:

Yeah, but wait, there's more.

Speaker B:

Wait, there's more.

Speaker A:

So we see Danny all tied up through, like, weird night vision, which is kind of a weird choice.

Speaker A:

I didn't like.

Speaker B:

I'm sorry you missed.

Speaker B:

We.

Speaker B:

There's a part I think that may have got lost, but it's what we saw.

Speaker A:

Oh, I did.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry.

Speaker A:

I jumped ahead.

Speaker A:

So we have to.

Speaker A:

Oh, gross.

Speaker A:

And then we're talking about humans.

Speaker A:

I'm sorry.

Speaker B:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker A:

This is the important thing.

Speaker A:

Go for it.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

So we're getting this back and forth, and Sam's just kind of being glib and.

Speaker B:

But he's just like.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

I mean, even though her life was hell, she can't murder someone.

Speaker B:

Which is what I said was interesting.

Speaker B:

Tie back to the lore.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

It's not.

Speaker A:

He said that her life being hell was not an excuse for a murder spree.

Speaker A:

And.

Speaker B:

And then Dean says.

Speaker A:

He gets defensive about hell.

Speaker A:

Yeah, he's like.

Speaker B:

Like, you know what hell was?

Speaker B:

Like, like, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Speaker B:

And that's what the Sam is like.

Speaker B:

I didn't mean.

Speaker B:

I'm like, shit, Dean.

Speaker B:

Like, that was literal.

Speaker B:

You took them very literally.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And so it's kind of a. Yeah, it's kind of a.

Speaker A:

A little bit of a. I don't know.

Speaker A:

I wouldn't say.

Speaker A:

I wouldn't take it to like a nature versus nurture kind of a thing.

Speaker A:

But Sam's like, look, I mean, you got to know at some point that this is not okay.

Speaker A:

Whether she knows right and wrong.

Speaker A:

You don't get a free pass.

Speaker B:

You don't get to murder people.

Speaker B:

You don't.

Speaker B:

You just.

Speaker B:

That's just not okay.

Speaker B:

You know, you don't get a free pass for that.

Speaker A:

But this is where they figure out that dad had to have been feeding.

Speaker B:

Her or she had to have been somewhere.

Speaker B:

Right?

Speaker B:

Like, she's locked up.

Speaker B:

And the Dean's like, oh, light bulb idea.

Speaker B:

I know.

Speaker B:

So now we're gonna go to our new hole in the ground.

Speaker B:

And the weird night vision.

Speaker B:

Why do we have night vision?

Speaker A:

The night vision makes no sense.

Speaker A:

It was.

Speaker A:

So as part of it, I was like, well, wait, are.

Speaker A:

Is this something that was in trunk that the girl on the wall was using?

Speaker A:

No, she wouldn't know how to use that.

Speaker A:

It obviously wasn't because he wasn't reacting, because Danny.

Speaker A:

We see Danny, but he's not reacting to the night vision person, wherever this is, shooting him.

Speaker A:

So it makes no sense.

Speaker A:

I was upset about the night vision.

Speaker A:

At first I thought it meant something, and then I realized it was just a stupid shooting choice, and I don't like it.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker B:

No.

Speaker B:

Did not like that choice at all.

Speaker A:

So she creeps in with a rat, kills it, needs it.

Speaker A:

And Danny tries to scream, but he's gagged.

Speaker B:

And this part really disturbs me.

Speaker B:

I don't know, because she's just like, laughing while he's screaming or just like.

Speaker B:

Oh, like, she's just, like, chonking into it.

Speaker A:

She's just like, chomping the floor, the.

Speaker B:

Out of that rat.

Speaker B:

I'm just like, oh, oh man.

Speaker B:

Like that's, that's not good.

Speaker B:

And yeah, your teeth are sharp.

Speaker B:

So sharp.

Speaker A:

So Dean wants to go down the dumb waiter because he's so dead set on being the one to save Danny.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker B:

He just got that in his butt.

Speaker B:

He's.

Speaker B:

He's got to do it.

Speaker A:

And so another shot.

Speaker A:

Interesting shot.

Speaker A:

Detail that they don't really address and you don't see even Dean react to.

Speaker A:

But as he's crawling in the dumbwaiter, there's a shot from the inside of the dumbwaiter looking back up at Sam.

Speaker A:

And you see like finger claw marks right at that door, at the entry of it, right where it opens at the open.

Speaker A:

Thought that was a good attention to detail, if not creepy as fuck.

Speaker B:

Then Sam asks Brian if he has curtains because they need rope.

Speaker B:

And I'm like, why didn't you ask Brian if he had rope?

Speaker B:

Like Brian, he's a person who doesn't have rope.

Speaker B:

Everyone's got something.

Speaker B:

Okay, but we need curtains.

Speaker B:

All right.

Speaker A:

But while this is going on, we get a shot of the shed where mom and Kate are hanging out and something smashes the boards over their window.

Speaker B:

Window.

Speaker B:

That's not good.

Speaker B:

No, that's not good.

Speaker A:

Back at the house though, while Dean is down in the crawl space, he is finding weapons.

Speaker A:

All of baby's baby trunks contents have been strewn about here.

Speaker A:

He gets a.

Speaker A:

Finds one of his guns and does call the girl a klepto.

Speaker A:

And so he's kind of whispering, calling for Danny and he finds him and cuts him free and said.

Speaker A:

And Danny said, says hurry, he's coming back.

Speaker A:

He.

Speaker A:

He and Danny goes.

Speaker A:

Her brother and I wrote WTF and got goosebumps and was not happy.

Speaker B:

It's a good twist though.

Speaker B:

I thought it was a good twist.

Speaker B:

And then Dean is all of a sudden tackle by boy.

Speaker B:

Dun, dun, dun.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So there's implication is that it was twins or just that she had more than one of her dads kids.

Speaker A:

Hopefully.

Speaker A:

I don't know what's hopeful.

Speaker A:

You can't even say hopefully.

Speaker A:

Twins.

Speaker A:

Jesus Christ.

Speaker A:

It's so awful.

Speaker A:

All of it.

Speaker B:

Like I don't know.

Speaker A:

Like.

Speaker B:

Well, I mean, is it worse?

Speaker B:

I. I don't know.

Speaker B:

I don't know which one's worse or better.

Speaker B:

I give up.

Speaker A:

Well, back at the shed we've got, we've got mom and Kate are.

Speaker A:

Are freaking out a bit and the.

Speaker B:

Walls are being stabbed.

Speaker A:

Yeah, the walls are being stabbed.

Speaker A:

Stabbed.

Speaker A:

What kind of Knife through the wall right behind it?

Speaker A:

I don't know.

Speaker A:

That's a good question.

Speaker B:

It's a very sharp one going in and out and not getting stuck.

Speaker B:

Because I'm like.

Speaker B:

I could see like a knife going through a wall, but I'm pulling it back out.

Speaker A:

It's very.

Speaker B:

Pulling it back out.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

It would just be like.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

No.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

So the walls are being stabbed.

Speaker B:

And in the house, they throw down the curtains.

Speaker A:

They throw down the curtain.

Speaker A:

Dean and Dean and the creepy bro.

Speaker A:

I don't know what to call him, are fighting.

Speaker B:

But what would be the boy version of Nell?

Speaker B:

Is it Neil?

Speaker B:

Psycho Neil.

Speaker A:

Psycho Neil.

Speaker A:

Yes, Psycho Neil.

Speaker B:

Psycho Nelson.

Speaker B:

I like Psycho Nelson.

Speaker A:

Psycho Nelson, Psycho Nell and Psycho Nelson.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

And Danny's getting pulled up by Sam.

Speaker A:

So that's good.

Speaker A:

In the tied up curtains because nobody thought about rope.

Speaker A:

Mom back in the shed actually gets a little ballsy.

Speaker A:

And she's got, like, a rake.

Speaker A:

And while the girl, Psycho Nell, is trying to break into the shed, she uses the rake to push back at the door while she's trying to come through.

Speaker A:

Pretty impressive.

Speaker A:

So Danny gets pulled out of the dumbwaiter by dad.

Speaker A:

At the house, Sam's yelling for Dean.

Speaker A:

Dean uses the flashlight to effectively slow the attack.

Speaker A:

Attack which allows by.

Speaker A:

By Psycho Nelson gets a gun and shoots at close range multiple times.

Speaker B:

Yeah, actually, I did not call him Psycho Nelson in here as a.

Speaker B:

Dean fights with Powder.

Speaker A:

Didn't have hair, though.

Speaker B:

No, no.

Speaker B:

I was like.

Speaker B:

Because he kind of looks like if Powder and Edward Scissorhands had a baby.

Speaker B:

Like, he's very.

Speaker B:

It's a very.

Speaker B:

Like, why are they in these clothes?

Speaker B:

Like, I don't know what's going on with this.

Speaker B:

Like, I just don't understand.

Speaker B:

Understand it.

Speaker B:

And then we're outside.

Speaker A:

A lot of it doesn't make sense.

Speaker A:

I'm gonna say a lot of this episode is a stretch.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And then outside, Psycho Nell, like, breaks down the door.

Speaker B:

Why is this bitch so strong?

Speaker B:

She's been in the.

Speaker A:

Very determined.

Speaker A:

Like, these people are not fucking with you anymore.

Speaker A:

They're hiding from you.

Speaker A:

And you're chasing them down now.

Speaker A:

Like, what the fuck?

Speaker B:

What is wrong with you?

Speaker B:

Nell and also Susan go to the gym.

Speaker B:

This is a child.

Speaker B:

Like, I mean, granted, she's kind of a bigger child.

Speaker B:

What the.

Speaker B:

Susan, there's two of you.

Speaker B:

Nobody.

Speaker B:

Oh, man.

Speaker B:

All right, so.

Speaker A:

So back out the shed.

Speaker A:

The girl gets in, is about to get mom, but she gets pulled out by her feet.

Speaker A:

And you hear a lot of thumps and noises and screams.

Speaker B:

And not good noises.

Speaker A:

It's like stab, stab, like screaming noises.

Speaker B:

It just sounds squishy.

Speaker B:

And I guess they're just like, we can't show this murder like this.

Speaker B:

This man is like stabbing this child.

Speaker B:

Child over and over again.

Speaker B:

So we're just gonna do this off.

Speaker A:

Camera and we do the math.

Speaker A:

This.

Speaker A:

This kid is at least 20 years old.

Speaker A:

She's an adult.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

It's still not a good look.

Speaker B:

A man stabbing a woman to death.

Speaker B:

No matter, like a feral person, a feral woman.

Speaker B:

It's not good.

Speaker B:

It's.

Speaker B:

It's not a good look for anybody.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker B:

Yeah, and Brian just like, pounds on the door and he's just like.

Speaker A:

And he's covered in blood, girl.

Speaker A:

He's covered in blood.

Speaker B:

And it kind of works for Susan.

Speaker B:

Like, she's like, kind of looks like.

Speaker A:

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A:

Thanks, Briannell.

Speaker A:

So now we've got Mom, Kate and Danny are all completely shell shocked and sitting there crying on the front steps of their house.

Speaker A:

Of course, I mean, like, rightfully so.

Speaker A:

I'm not knocking that at all.

Speaker B:

I'd be going trying to find that mess.

Speaker A:

Okay, do we have something that look good?

Speaker A:

Liquid.

Speaker A:

Come on.

Speaker A:

Now Dad's standing there and they're staring at the corpse of Psychonell with an extreme unnecessary close up at this point.

Speaker B:

Sad.

Speaker B:

What.

Speaker A:

What were they thinking?

Speaker B:

Why this, first off, this didn't really.

Speaker A:

Add anything to the story, to the feeling at the moment.

Speaker A:

It added.

Speaker A:

Added nothing.

Speaker A:

It was just creepy and weird and unnecessary.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker A:

I feel strongly about that.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

So the next morning.

Speaker B:

Yay.

Speaker A:

Trunk has been restored to her glory.

Speaker B:

Everything's so much better.

Speaker A:

I could not.

Speaker A:

Trunk is okay.

Speaker A:

Trunk's okay.

Speaker B:

All right.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

And Dean's got the tires changing.

Speaker B:

And then he's just like, man, are you guys okay?

Speaker B:

And Susan's like, no, but we're together.

Speaker B:

But we're together and we're holding hands and like, so I guess, like, stabbing inbred hillbillies.

Speaker B:

It's like, that's the best form of marriage counseling and that's a trust exercise.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And they're all just grateful.

Speaker A:

They thank the brothers.

Speaker A:

But then the brothers are also like, yeah, thanks for the head start.

Speaker A:

And they're like, yeah, we figured you didn't want to meet with the sheriff.

Speaker A:

Like, yeah, no shit.

Speaker B:

So how do you explain this to sheriff?

Speaker B:

Why are you still in this house?

Speaker B:

Why is this house not being lit on fire?

Speaker B:

Like, you just walk away from this mortgage, you just pay that off.

Speaker B:

Like, you just go, go.

Speaker B:

Just go.

Speaker A:

So we have a really weird scene Yep.

Speaker B:

This is also weird.

Speaker A:

So we have.

Speaker A:

We cut to Sam and Dean standing next to baby under an overpass for no reason.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker A:

At all with burgers.

Speaker B:

Because that's where you eat your burgers.

Speaker B:

I'm gonna pull my burgers.

Speaker A:

It's nonsense.

Speaker A:

It's like when they pull over randomly to, like, have beer somewhere stupid.

Speaker B:

I get the beers.

Speaker B:

I get like, hey, do you want to have a beer?

Speaker B:

We're in the middle of nowhere.

Speaker B:

We'll stop.

Speaker B:

Okay.

Speaker B:

That.

Speaker A:

You don't stop.

Speaker A:

You just drink and drive.

Speaker A:

I guess you can't do tv, so whatever.

Speaker A:

Yeah, sorry.

Speaker A:

Because it's better than country road tripping.

Speaker A:

Sorry, guys.

Speaker A:

Things happen.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker B:

It's better.

Speaker B:

They're outside the car and then get back in.

Speaker B:

Whatever.

Speaker B:

But.

Speaker B:

Yeah, but also, like, why.

Speaker B:

Why did you bring the burgers out to.

Speaker B:

Oh, whatever.

Speaker A:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

But Dean's came and eat his burger, which.

Speaker A:

So, you know, he's up upset.

Speaker B:

Right.

Speaker B:

That is a sign.

Speaker A:

That's how.

Speaker A:

You know, and like, that basically, they talk about how they kind of feel for those.

Speaker A:

The Nell and Psycho Nell and Psycho Nelson because they had a life of, you know, a lifelong torture.

Speaker A:

Basically.

Speaker A:

That was what their life was.

Speaker A:

But it is kind of sad.

Speaker B:

No, he's.

Speaker B:

Yeah, he's got empathy.

Speaker B:

He's like, look, man.

Speaker B:

Like, this is kind of gross.

Speaker B:

You know, I get it.

Speaker A:

Like, but.

Speaker A:

And.

Speaker A:

And there's reference to them being barely human.

Speaker A:

And then Dean's like, no, but I was worse.

Speaker A:

I did.

Speaker A:

You know, I did it for pleasure.

Speaker A:

I enjoyed it.

Speaker A:

And he's talking about his time in hell when he was helping torture people.

Speaker A:

He's like, you know.

Speaker A:

You know, for all the years of pain, it helped me deal with some of that.

Speaker A:

And that, you know, the kids were just.

Speaker A:

These kids were just animals defending their own property.

Speaker A:

But I enjoyed torturing people.

Speaker A:

It's different.

Speaker B:

Different.

Speaker A:

So.

Speaker A:

And that he can't fill this hole inside of him by saving people.

Speaker B:

Yep.

Speaker B:

And that's apparently, you know, this is what we get to.

Speaker B:

From the beginning to the end.

Speaker B:

This is what Dean has been trying to do.

Speaker B:

Has been trying to fill the hole that he felt torturing bad people in hell.

Speaker B:

And.

Speaker B:

But also, like, it's.

Speaker B:

I think it's interesting, you know, going back to math, but really what, you know, what he's saying, though, is just like, look in I. Dragon tastes not dragon.

Speaker B:

But it's just like, I was in so much pain.

Speaker B:

And then I found this thing that took away the pain.

Speaker B:

And all I wanted to do was not have that pain anymore.

Speaker B:

And no matter who I hurt, no matter what I did, that felt better than feeling that pain.

Speaker B:

And so I think that's, you know, pretty.

Speaker B:

A pretty insightful thing in the human experience.

Speaker B:

But they're not trying to talk about addiction.

Speaker B:

That's just where I go to on that.

Speaker B:

But that's, you know.

Speaker B:

Yeah, but.

Speaker B:

But why are you having this conversation here?

Speaker B:

I don't.

Speaker A:

It's weird.

Speaker A:

It's forced and weird.

Speaker A:

I felt that way about a lot of things about this episode.

Speaker A:

I'm just saying.

Speaker B:

Yeah.

Speaker A:

And worse.

Speaker A:

And they kill the fucking dog.

Speaker A:

They broke the rule.

Speaker A:

Don't kill the dog.

Speaker B:

Fuckers.

Speaker B:

Yeah, he's very upset.

Speaker A:

I do have one casting note that I would like to share.

Speaker A:

So Susan Carter, our mother in this episode, has pretty big claim to fame.

Speaker A:

Slater was also the original:

Speaker B:

That is pretty cool.

Speaker A:

In addition to being the legend of Billie Jean, which I haven't seen, but I was told I should see.

Speaker A:

So, yeah.

Speaker B:

Other fun.

Speaker B:

Did you.

Speaker B:

Did you get the other casting notes about the Supernatural tiebacks?

Speaker A:

I did not get the Supernatural tiebacks.

Speaker A:

I have a few other.

Speaker A:

Like Uncle Ted was Bradley Stryker.

Speaker A:

He, funny enough was in a:

Speaker A:

But he was also in a few episodes of Izombie.

Speaker B:

And then.

Speaker A:

Kate Carter was played by Alexa Nicholas and she was a major character on Zoe 101, the Nickelodeon show, and then was in three episodes of Walking Dead as Haley.

Speaker A:

And Danny was played by Dylan Minette and he was in a bunch of the Goosebumps movies.

Speaker A:

Now, good old Bill Gibson, that piece of shit was played by Jerry Russo.

Speaker A:

He plays a lot of like, small, small roles, but it was some interesting shows.

Speaker A:

X Files, once upon a time.

Speaker A:

And he is in another episode of Supernatural later on.

Speaker B:

Yeah, he.

Speaker B:

Before this, he was in episode season two, episode 18, Hollywood Babylon.

Speaker A:

Oh, okay.

Speaker B:

He played Billy Beard in that.

Speaker A:

Yes.

Speaker B:

And then other interesting side note, interview with Sci Fi magazine, Eric Kirby said, this is.

Speaker B:

You talk about the episode this will tie in.

Speaker B:

So he said, you know, we wanted to make an episode like the X Files home.

Speaker B:

Let's make an episode that the network will air once and then people will complain so much they'll never air it again.

Speaker B:

And the role of the housekeeper in this episode, Mrs. Curry, was played by Karen Konival, who also played the mother of the incestuous family in that X Files episode.

Speaker B:

And then she will come back again later.

Speaker B:

It will see her in season nine of Supernatural.

Speaker B:

Look at that other fun fact too.

Speaker B:

This is one of the only six episodes where the monsters are human, and we've seen two of them so far.

Speaker B:

The Benders.

Speaker A:

Cheers.

Speaker B:

The Bloody Benders.

Speaker B:

Girls, you're still rocking in Mexico.

Speaker B:

Olay.

Speaker B:

And season two is the Usual Suspects.

Speaker B:

So.

Speaker A:

Yeah, I don't like it.

Speaker B:

Nobody liked it.

Speaker B:

Well, that's I like the last I love Crippy said complain so much, so never air it again.

Speaker B:

Get.

Speaker B:

And I'm like, you want.

Speaker B:

Why did you want me to hate this?

Speaker B:

Why you want to make me want to hate you?

Speaker B:

Hate you.

Speaker B:

Yeah, you a lot.

Speaker B:

But I don't hate you.

Speaker B:

You I love.

Speaker B:

All right, well, I think we're gonna wrap it then, because I'm tired of talking about hillbillies and meth.

Speaker A:

All right.

Speaker A:

But not incest.

Speaker A:

No, I'm just kidding.

Speaker B:

That's fine.

Speaker B:

All right.

Speaker B:

Cheers.

Speaker B:

Jerk.

Speaker A:

Cheers.
